Our program is designed for maximum transferability to an Associate of Arts or Bachelor of Arts Degree with a specialization in Criminology.
Criminology broadens our understanding of crime and its effects on society. It focuses on important issues such as public safety and social justice as we explore questions about crime, criminals and justice.

Program options at NWCC Community, Crime & Social Justice Certificate (CCSJ)
Associate of Arts Degree— Criminology Specialization
Gain solid grounding in criminal justice issues, particularly as they pertain to northern and First Nations residents.
Focus on criminal justice while earning a valuable education and employment credential. You can complete an Associate Degree after two years at NWCC.
Our unique and fully accredited eight-month program includes a six-week work placement in a criminal justice (or related) agency. This might be in your home community or you may have the opportunity to travel some place new in Canada to complete the work placement.
The program is designed for maximum transferability to a Bachelor of Arts, Criminology degree program.
Gain essential, hands-on work experience and practice applying what you’ve learned in the classroom to real-world situations. CCSJ is widely recognized for entry-level jobs in lots of criminal justice agencies.
