2021 will be an election year for the NODA executive board and the directors at large. Due to many changes in my life I will not be running for president in 2021 and will be turning the reins over to someone else. If you would be interested in the position of president, vice president, treasurer, secretary or a director at large, now is a good time to get involved and learn the ropes. It is a great way to give back to the sport of dressage. Congratulations to our webmaster, Lesley Matt, as NODA’s website won the award for Best Overall Layout and Design for a GMO with 175-499 members. Thank you Lesley and Patty Keim for all the time and work you put into the website. There will be some changes, but NODA’s dedication to high quality will remain. Turn to page 4 to find out more. NODA lost friend and member, Wendy Gruskiewicz, in September. There’s no denying that 2020 has been a challenging year for equestrian sports, but that has not stopped our intrepid Recognized Shows committee from getting underway planning for 2021! The ball is rolling as the committee works on contracts for the venue and judges for Dressage 2021 and Dressage 2021 Encore. As is customary NODA will feature two shows over our two-day USDF/USEF recognized shows weekend.

US Equestrian Extends COVID-19 Related Rule Modifications for 2021 Competition Year by US Equestrian Communications Department | Nov 9, 2020, 3:30 PM EST As we near the beginning of the 2021 competition year, it is evident that the effects of the pandemic will be ongoing for some time. In its continuing efforts to provide necessary flexibility without sacrificing safety and welfare, US Equestrian will continue to modify certain USEF rules throughout the 2021 competition year. Doing so allows USEF competitions and events to be as safe as possible while still complying with rules and regulations that provide for a fair and level playing field. Continuing Modifications to USEF Rules Many of the COVID-19-related rule modifications implemented for the 2020 competition year have been reissued and will be effective December 1, 2020, through November 30, 2021. A brief summary of the 89 rule modifications is listed at the link below. If necessary, additional rule modifications will be reviewed and published when approved. www.usef.org/media/press-releases/us-equestrian-extends-covid-19-related-rule

News and Updates from Karen Puchalsky NODA’s Dressage Foundation GMO Liaison

Age has great advantages! Do you know about the Century Club? Have you read some of the Century Club stories? Take a few minutes, go to The Dressage Foundation (TDF) and read some incredibly inspiring stories. The Century Club recognizes dressage riders and horses whose combined ages total 100 years or more. Horse and rider perform a test of any level at a show (schooling or recognized) or event, and are scored by a dressage judge or professional. Western Dressage riders are also welcome to join the Century Club. An application, found under the "Join the Century Club" heading, should be completed and sent to The Dressage Foundation at least two weeks prior to the ride. TDF will send a beautiful black and gold ribbon to be presented to the team at the show. Following the ride, TDF sends a Century Club plaque to the new team. The Century Club is a testament that dressage is a sport for everyone at any age. Find out more at www.dressagefoundation.org/grants-and-programs/century-club/ about.html *****************
