Nagaoka Fireworks Festival is held yearly on the 1st and 2nd of August in Nagaoka City in Niigata. This small town will be filled with people and is said to be the most desirable fireworks festival in Japan. Enjoy the two-hour festival with over 20,000 fireworks, shot from a 1.2-mile wide barge on the Shinano River. The highlight is the largest Shosanshakudama (3-feet long) shell in the world, which spreads out 2,000 feet wide in the sky! **Guaranteed reserved seating! Nebuta Festival was designated as an
Important Intangible Folk Cultural Property in 1980. “Nebuta” refers to the floating brave warrior figures which are carried through the center of the city by over 50,000 dancers who move to rhythm of Japanese taiko and flute music! ** Guaranteed reserved seating!
