MISSION OF SCOUTING Mission of WAGGGS

To enable girls and young women to develop their fullest potential as responsible citizens of the world.

Mission of WOSM

The Mission of the Scout Movement is to contribute to the education of young people, through a value system based on the Scout Promise and Law to help build a better world where people are self-fulfilled as individuals and play a constructive role in society.

This is achieved by:

Involving them throughout their formative years in a non-formal educational process

using a specific method that makes each individual the principal agent in his or her development as a self-reliant, supportive, responsible, and committed person

assisting them to establish a value system based upon spiritual, social and personal principles as expressed in the Promise and Law.

STRATEGIC PRIORITY AREAS

Youth Program

Nepal Scouts should ensure the youth program is vibrant and relevant to current youth trends and is effectively implemented providing safe environment in all Scouting activities, ensuring inclusiveness (gender, etc).

Adults-in-Scouting

The priority focuses on effective implementation of National Adult Development Policy ensuring competent and motivated leaders as per the requirement are available at all levels and in all roles.

Good Governance

The priority area focuses on transparency, accountability, responsive, fully constituted, and functional association at all levels, delivering quality Scouting in respective areas of operation as per the laid rules/procedures.

Resources Development and Management

Nepal Scouts to ensure efficient management of assets at all levels, explore new source of revenue, partnerships and further strengthen the available revenue centers toward association’s self-reliance.

Communication

This strategic priority will ensure the development & Implementation of communication Policy and emphasis on the effective communication with all stakeholders adopting impactful methods, brand promotion & protection.

Membership Growth

This priority focuses on increasing membership towards achieving the vision 2032 by implementing efficient growth strategy, ensuring reaching to all segments of society and making Scouting easily accessible to every willing young person

Youth Program

Strategic Priority: Youth Program

Nepal Scouts should ensure the Youth Program is vibrant and relevant to current youth trends and is effectively implemented providing safe environment in all Scouting activities, ensuring inclusiveness (gender, etc).

Adults-in-Scouting

STRATEGIC PRIORITY: ADULTS-IN-SCOUTING

The priority focuses on effective implementation of National Adult Development Policy ensuring competent and motivated leaders as per the requirement are available at all levels and in all roles.

Objective 1:

To ensure National Adults Development Policy is implemented at all levels by December 2024.

1.1 Develop necessary tools, handbooks, guidelines for effective implementation of NADP

Recommendations

We the member of Recommendations Committee of National Strategic planning workshop, would like to recommend few points to The Nepal Scouts for the proper implementation of the National Strategic Plan of Nepal Scouts.

It is recommended that it would be better providing the Strategic Plan and other documents in Nepali Language as well as distributing nationwide.

It is recommended that Nepal Scouts NHQ should ensure the appropriate budget and support to find potential resources in province and local level for the effective implementation of Strategic Plan in all level.

For the successful Implementation of Strategic Plan Nepal Scouts has to collaboration with other organization with similar vison.

It is recommended that in upcoming events related with strategy and planning, leadership from national, Provincial and Local level should attend full time.

It is recommended that to conduct the orientation program in provincial level and local for the proper promotion and implementation of strategic plan.

It is recommended that to ensure availability of proper training documents, resources and necessary support by NHQ to provinces and local level to ensure the effective and efficient implementation of the strategic plan.
