CONTENTS Foreword YESS Girls Movement is one of the leading projects of Nepal Scouts since 2018, with the support of WAGGGS and NOREC.

Acknowledgement Due to the second wave of global pandemic Corona virus (COVID-19) all activities are halted and doing activities virtually.

In Nepal due to the second wave of COVID-19, all the schools and colleges are still closed. Even in this tough time, we had opportunity to go hike with Innovative Open Crew on 24th July where we were able to recruit 5 new ranger scouts and with the help of team wheel, we were able to recruit 42 new scouts of Himali Scout Troop from Pokhara.

This month we trained the scouts from Himali Scouts Troop on Gender Based Violence (GBV) focusing on Domestic Violence as well as shadow pandemic. The scouts learnt more about GBV and broaden their knowledge on shadow pandemic. They also learnt how to identify it and what are the steps they can take, to speak out and take action against domestic violence and on other GBV.

COVID-19 Response Team of Nepal is still conducting different activities virtually because still gathering and conducting physical activities is not possible in our country.

Press and Social Media Lot of covid cases was increased and government released lockdown in Nepal so due to lockdown there were no press meet this month.

Communication team is collaborating and communicating with other respective teams. This month we collaborated with COVID – 19 team for 5 days to do “Girl scouts against COVID19 ” challenge where we did most of the designs for the story.


FOREWORDS

YESS Girls Movement is one of the leading projects of Nepal Scouts since 2018, with the support of WAGGGS and NOREC. Nepal Scouts is delighted to welcome passionate young girls leaders as the National Task Force Members for the 2021 Youth Exchange South to South (YESS) movement in Nepal. In past, the YESS project has enhanced the ability of our young leaders by developing their skills in leadership ,communication ,reporting and ability to manage their day-to-day activities including special events. The YESS projects has also assisted Nepal Scouts in interacting with other participants and the young women leaders will be strengthen and empower other young girls and leaders of Nepal Scouts. They are working as a role model which inspires and encourages other youths to be the members of Nepal Scouts. This year, due to COVID-19 International Exchange has not been planned for 2020/2021. YESS Girls Movement-Nepal Scouts has recruited 20 young girls along with 5 alumnae as team leader who will guide the Task Force Members .They have already been engaged in different activities and commitment in the mission to help girls reach their highest potential through campaign, activities delivering WAGGGS initiatives like World Thinking Day ,Free Being Me / Action on Body Confidence , Stop the violence etc. followed with daily office administrative support and other assigned tasks. Nepal Scouts is eager to continue working with the girls to achieve the targeted YESS project along with the girls to achieve the targeted YESS project along with others WAGGGS initiatives. Nepal Scouts is also committed to ensure that the YESS Girls Movements program that will support in delivering the outstanding results in Nepal for a whole year. The movement will be the opportunity to have experience of lifetime not just for the girls but for all scouts in Nepal.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

Currently, due to the second wave of global pandemic Corona virus (COVID-19) all activities are halted and doing activities virtually. Even in the lockdown situation girls are completing the challenges by the WAGGGS and of the project as well and stood noticeable in social medias spreading the message of scouting to the world. All the teams worked hard and conducted various virtual programs for the young girls and leaders. Different informative messages regarding COVID-19 was spread by COVID-19

Response Team. All the teams are doing the

activities virtually due to the present situation. The Membership Team and COVID-19 Response Team also completed the tasks assigned by WAGGGS in a proper and effective way.The Capacity Building Team also successfully conducted Basic Graphics Designing Course in which MOs staffs also participated.

Similarly, Advocacy team launched one week long webinar for Himali Scout Troop.

The Scouts actively participated and they were thankful for YESS team as even during pandemic they got platform to learn many more new things. Besides these two others team also did their best and team work and coordination between each other can be seen. They all are giving their 100% efforts.

At last, I am very thankful for having very passionate and hardworking YESS

National Task Force Members. I am impressed with their creativity and during the hard time also they are performing very well. I am proud of them. Hence, I personally recommend all to stay home and stay safe, let’s hope the next day shall bring the ray of new hope and better world. Thank you!!

Team Wheel of Change had successfully handed over the statement to the policy makers of the country. The letter was presented to Mr. Umesh Dhungana, Spokesperson and Joint-Secretary of Ministry of Women, Children and Senior Citizen, which is the line ministry in the sector of Women’s welfare. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many young girls and women have been affected in different aspects. The team prepared the document of urgent attention after a rigorous research about the related topic and mentioned 7-point statement of how the girls and young women in Nepal have been affected by COVID-19; and requested them for urgent action to minimize the impact and uplift the status of young girls and women.

The highly interactive session provided information on design principles, styling and other technical aspects of graphic designing. However, the major focus was on Photoshop and monthly newsletter, which need to be prepared by the YESS Team Monthly including the major activities that they undertake. The training started from 27th June and ended on 15th July 2021. The training duration was of one and half hours each day. Altogether, there were 20 participants in the session including YESS Alumnae. The training held through Zoom Platform. The main motto was to provide the knowledge about graphic design .The whole session was exciting and interactive as all participants were eager to learn more about the training. The training conducted in presence of YESS Country Coordinator Ms. Saru Gosai.


COMMUNICATION TEAM Communication team is collaborating and communicating with all respective teams. This month we collaborated with COVID – 19 team for 5 days to do “Girl scouts against COVID - 19” challenge where we did most of the designs for the story. We had even collaborated with membership team to do the tik tok dance challenge on “Welcome to my world and unapologetically a girl guide’’ and to make banner for their post in social media. This month communication team have also joined the communication induction, which was organized by WAGGGS on July 16 through zoom. Thus, we were successful in posting 24 contents this month on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. We received 527 likes on Facebook, 491 likes on Instagram and 14 likes on twitter. We got 1.6k views on Facebook videos and 365 views on Instagram.


PRESS AND SOCIAL MEDIA COVID cases are still increasing and partial lockdown is on-going in different parts of country. So we are unable to conduct any press meet.
