BREAKING EDUCATIONAL & EMPLOYMENT BARRIERS Get information and assistance to break educational and employment barriers, for individuals with a criminal history. DEVELOPING YOUR CAREER) PORTFOLIO Instructs participants on how to develop a career portfolio that is used to help employers see your documented skills and accomplishments. INTRO INTO CAREER COUNSELING (WIOA PROGRAM)* This session is assigned if you are ready for your next step in your career development and need further assistance. *See a Talent Development consultant before signing up for this session. COMPUTER BASICS FOR SEEKERS (With NCWorks Online) Learn basic computer skills *Learn parts of the computer *Set up and send emails with/without attachments *Get tips for completing an online application for employment *Learn to upload a resume and to search for employment online *Learn how to respond to job postings. KEY TRAIN (CRC PREP) Become prepared to test for the National Career Readiness Certificate * Obtain a National Credential * Become more marketable to employers that require this credential. MAXIMIZING JOB SEARCH NCWORKS Find employment-related resources! * Get connected to employers by using the resume wizard * Find education, training, labor market information, and EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES. PATHWAYS TO EMPLOYMENT/JOB SEARCH SKILLS Organized Job Search *Completed interest inventory *Develop a job search plan of action * Personal strengths and skills identified * Get knowledge of the complete employment process – from search and applying, to interviewing, to receiving a job offer. WORK-NET JOB FINDING CLUB Professional and peer-to-peer networking * Network with employers * Get motivated * Get support * Get insight from HR perspective. WINNING RESUMES Create a resume from a template using Microsoft Word *Learn the parts, format, and function of a resume, including the different types of resumes and how they are used *Learn to save, print, and email your resume *Receive instruction on cover letters/thank you letters.
