GTCC Aviation Manufacturing Quick Careers Program (AMQCP) Thank you for your initial interest in our Aviation Manufacturing Quick Careers Program (AMQCP) Training. The AMQCP program is approximately 17 week long and will provide you with an entry-level skill set in Structures Assembly/Sheet Metal Work skills. Here is an overview of the AMQC Program general description with dates: Introduction to Structures (IS) This three week course is a prerequisite to Manufacturing Core Skills (MCS) and provides the inexperienced student with an introduction into the basics of sheet metal and composite structures, in order to assemble and fabricate typical component parts. It involves a brief overview of materials used in aviation and manufacturing to include an insight into safety, tooling, reading engineering drawings, structural fasteners, precision instruments and manufacturing techniques. Students will formally register before the first day of class. As we do have a lot of enquiries and interest, class placement cannot be guarantee for the class until you have formally registered with the course as the policy is on a ‘first-come firstserved’ basis. Careers Readiness Certificate (CRC) and Human Resource Development 1 (HRD) The fourth week of the aviation and manufacturing experience introduces ‘Career Readiness Certificate’ (CRC) and ‘Human Resource Development’ (HRD) training, important components for future employment opportunities. Manufacturing Core Skills (MCS) The registration for Manufacturing Core Skills should be completed after passing the IS Test. This four week course is a prerequisite to Structures Assembly and is designed to further enhance student’s knowledge about the aerospace manufacturing industry. It will give an understanding of the products produced, as well as the tools, materials, and procedures necessary to be successful as an employee of an aerospace manufacturing organization. Structures Assembly (SA) The registration for Structures Assembly should be completed after passing the MCS Test. This eight week course provides the student with both online and practical elements specializing in assembling and dismantling structural component parts commonly used in both the aviation and manufacturing industries. The course will enhance previous knowledge and introduce many practical structural metallic fabrication techniques produced in accordance with local technical data. Supported with the knowledge gained from previous courses; “Introduction to Structures” and “Manufacturing Core Skills”, the successful graduate will be more readily prepared to face the many challenges presented in the metallic structural world in both industries. Human Resource Development 2 (HRD) The final week will include the following Interviewing & Employability Skills to further reinforce your potential to future employers. Exams All written tests require a minimum of 80% and all practical tests each require a minimum of 70% to successfully complete the course(s). There is no retest for the ‘Introduction To Structures’ phase but no assessment will be required for the practical elements of this course. There is a retest for Manufacturing Core Skills and Structures Assembly if the grade for the written test is below 80%.
