William “Dinty” Moore 1936-58 (23 years) Record: 159-50-2 (.758)

• Led the Mids to at least a share of six national titles, including outright championships in 1939, ‘43, ‘46 and ‘54. • Produced 146 All-Americans, including 33First-Team All-Americas under his tutelage, including Navy’s first Schmeisser Memorial Cup recipient — team captain Charles Guy. • Directed the Mids to a 20-6 victory over Drexel in 1943, in which Robert Booze established an Academy record for goals in a game with eight. • Helped mold Stewart McLean and National Hall of Fame member James Chambers II into the top attackmen during their era, as both were recipients of the Jack Turnbull Memorial Award. • Led the Mids to three undefeated seasons, including an 11-0-0 record in 1949. • Coached one of only three four-time All-Americans in Navy’s history, James Chambers II.
