Explore the sights, sounds, and tastes from cultures across the globe at the 13th Annual International Children’s Festival in Hampton, Virginia Bring the entire family to the International Children’s Festival, a veritable palette of color, cultural pride, and camaraderie. The event, taking place 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. at downtown Hampton’s Mill Point Park, will allow children of all ages the unique opportunity to experience the sights, sounds, and tastes of over 35 countries. A wealth of activities are planned for this year’s program, including a costumed Parade of Nations, showcasing a breathtaking array of exquisite fabrics, bold colors, and exciting designs. Entertainment for this year’s festival will take place on three stages and includes the popular Dragon Head Dance, Tai-Chi Fist, Sword and Fan, native folk dancers and musicians. Hilby the Skinny German Juggle Boy, The Mechanical Man, a stilt walker and the Monkey Man will provide roaming entertainment in Mill Point Park throughout the day. To help children further stimulate real travel and enhance their worldwide journey, Passports to Adventure will be available for $1 and with the purchase the child will then be entered into a special “World Traveler” prize drawing. In addition to the activities of the day, vendors will offer (for a fee) exotic and tempting treats from Turkey, Vietnam, Greece, Thailand, Japan, the Middle East and more.

Heat a large nonstick skillet over medium heat. Coat pan with cooking spray. Spoon 2 tablespoon batter mounds onto pan. Allow space for them to spread out. Cook for 2 minutes or until tops are covered with bubbles and edges look cooked. Flip pancakes over, cook 1 minute or until bottoms are lightly browned. Repeat until all batter is used. Top with a sliced Banana and some honey for a delicious breakfast. If you have leftovers, refrigerate and heat up during the week for a quick breakfast.
