Dear readers, The summer season is over and September has come, VSN Magazine has been upgraded with new graphics, enhancing the initial design. Over the years we have evolved to face new challenges. You will find in each edition new specialties, curiosities, exclusive interviews and, in short, mimicry to move to the so-called virtual world. I am happy and very optimistic for the future, as always, because we are growing up and want to reach new goals to offer only the best. Welcome in Sansar ! Writer and photographer Mafalda2 Diesel Sansar is the new project made in Linden Lab, a new virtual platform that involves completely its users. This ambitious project is born to unite new technologies with the virtual reality of the oculus googles, this is an ambitious project but we are looking forward to reassuring the community that Sansar will not replace our Second Life. For now, the viewer is in beta mode but it has so many new users. As in Second Life, in Sansar we have a new currency, new scenarios and new avatars customizable in appearance and physical traits. But we have not told you how to access this new virtual world: unlike sl, you need basic requirements like a good internet connection and good computer performance, you don't have to install or have an oculus viewer but you will find all the technical details on the official website. 36

Why Sansar is a new experience? The answer is simple: the regions and the tiny lands are designed to be explored with a much better graphics than ever before, and most of all, the environment is almost realistic. My humble judgment is positive for those who, like me, want to enjoy the beauty of virtual places as a result of fantasy, artistic extravagance, and the commitment of those who built that land.

fter the Season Finale of GoT, I wanted something in style for some photos. I kinda wanted ti revive this season and the ones before. So, searching around i found this Land: Casterly Rock + Westerlands. It's wonderful. I spent hours taking pictures and searching for better views. I used Firestorm viewer and "[EUPHORIA] that day" settings, playing here and there! 81

he thing with photography is that... You have to be patient, you know? Creativity is Just the begging, patiebt is the way ti achieve what your mind see even when you have to prepare your set. I'm not a very enduring lady okay? Ask anyone Who knows me: i get angry with very little, i can't stand repeating my self. But, when it comes to these photos i just open my iTunes, take a sip of tea and breath. Yeah, sometimes I actually forget to breath while making a photo because my viewer tends to crash.

ell! Linden Lab came up with a “new” crazy thing: an alternative Platform that is built for VR and with VR I mean Oculus Rift and HTC Vive (this one need Steam) that you stick to your face! So, this brand new platform (that is out for the Beta run sin 31 July 2017) is called Sansar and, i don’t know about you, but saying it makes me think about some exotic place. First: Sansar is now only available for Windows (sorry Mac user) because there isn’t a software that supports VR in Sierra v.10.12.6. (It now can be runned only on virtual machines that simulate a Windows OS)

UT Linden Lab is working to a solution and it may comes with the new update: “High Sierra” that will release some new app that will make the VR a reality on its devices. In Sansar you haven’t a flowing world of close lands like SL, you have more of a “little worlds” or “rooms” where you can go, you can browse them through the Atlas, choose what place you wanna visit. What’s the deal? Are we gonna pay for visit, i dunno, Egypt?

o, you are not, all the tours are totally free, at least this is the idea from Lined Lab. So, only the creators will pay for their “land”(called experiences)and it’s less of how much you pay in SL for a monthly rent and LL is already making some deals: 10$ for 5 experiences, but, creator can always sell, rent or ask you a fee to make the tour - quite fair, imho-. Building in Sansar is a lot different than in SL: see, my lovely designer and architects, you will not have Prims, you are going to build you world piece by piece in a external 3d software (Maya, Blender, Unity ecc). And if you need something or you are feeling lazy Sandar has its own Store where you can buy objects or even clothes for your avatar.

o, jumping into the platform review!
Unfortunately i don’t own a VR set so, i took my best with the desktop option: i didn’t mentioned it? There is a desktop option, so you don’t need the VR but it takes the experience to a whole new level! Here’s the thing: Sansar is heavy like “hot enough for fry an egg” CPU Temperature. Heavy like “i can’t even be on Skype or with my web browser open” and gave me not little problems with crashes and such things. You move as you do in a video game (WASD and arrows) and can choose if FP or TP view with F3 for camera control. It lacks of the SL Camera Control but it’s fair as it is. I think it’s cool, it’s a great idea and will change how we will see the VR tech and even how to visit Museum or Art Galleries. Even though for my PC it’s too heavy (Uff) It can be a new promise for disabled people from the Linden Lab: visit the world from your room. And I’m hoping for this!

ave you noticed how things changed in these years? I’m not talking of SL for once - not entirely- i’ll explain myself:
Back in the day where i was supposed to graduate you had to present a thesis about a subject of your choice that would be compatible with the program of your school. Who went to an Art school often chooses one subject inerent with the program such as: Impressionism, Cubism or a Painter, a Sculptor. This kind of stuff and it was like that for all the courses. But now, and with “now” i mean “Since the past 5 years” i saw, i knew people who chose as subject Tv Series or Myths or even board games. Jeez, i know of a girl that talked about D&D, another one of Doctor Who, one of Vampires and to be honest, if i’ll have the chance i’ll do it one about a soup of my favourite supernatural Tv Shows.

mean, school is boring, right? This is a way to put effort in something you have to do, doing in a way you can love it!
I see Breaking Bad’s thesis, Lost’s, Quantico’s, High Castle’s, Glee’s and Galavant’s. I couldn’t be more proud of this turn in our society. This things, this tv shows, no matter if they are fairy tales based or Zombie’s or even some Mad sociopath scientist based, this are the things that we like and from some times now we have the freedom to talk about it. I see more and more Lands be created on this bases, the other day one Rpg land came up: a Walking Dead themed one (http://maps.secondlife. com/secondlife//222/168/206) and i couldn’t be glad to see how much effort people put in these projects to experience those events with other fans, to create a community, a some sort of a family. Keep it on with the good job guys, it doesn’t matter if it is a skin, a shape, a land, a dress or a graduation thesis: keep living your dream because you are never gonna be too old to dream!
