Dear readers, Dear readers, Hello and welcome in another fantastic issue of VSN! Did you miss us? Because we missed you, a lot. That's why we're back with other awesome articles just for your entertainment! We will talk about a lot of magnificent just like: an alien-like land based underwater; all the ways you could see and live SL; an awesome land that promotes artists and its wonderful expositions. Second Life has just turned 15 and they are not very few, in such a long time an empire has been formed, a new universe and consequently the way of thinking of us users has been shaped by it. However, the interpretation of Second Life changes according to the point of view. This 3D platform contains so many things that it is difficult to get a precise point. Second Life is a social network? Or a video game? Or why not, a role-playing game? In my opinion it is all three things. Second Life combines and connects people from every country and every nationality, you can create a list of friends, you can communicate through groups and you can go shopping and countless other things like sharing pictures, creating objects... but you can also play.

How many of you have experienced videogame-themed regions? Zombies, SuperMario and so on and so forth. Personally, I used to frequent a Zombies-themed land several years ago, where the main purpose was to jump into a cage-arena and shoot as many undead as possible, or in another region, everything was in 8bit and the setting recalled the levels of the old Mario. All fun experiences but -for what I saw and experienced in first person- have never had so many people in tow, perhaps because they are run by small owners, the fact is that most of the people who enter SL want to have a contact, an exchange with other people.

Perhaps a more elaborate version of a "SL Videogame" is the role-playing game. The setting makes the user more involved and a community is created between those who participate and play actively in the land. There are hundreds and hundreds of RPG regions, with different settings: SciFi, Gor, Fantasy etc, places that have become very famous and frequented in the SL community, where many have discovered this new passion or those who have moved it from their own RL on SL. And here comes a slightly twisted perception of SL. If Second Life is itself a role-playing game (since you create an altarpiece of your own RL) is it possible to create a character in the character? A sort of Alter-ception? I believe all this is possible, as well as having a vision of the three categories together. Second Life was born to unite people all over the world through a digital universe, it is not important how you interpret it or live it, but what matters is to be able to express itself in the freest of concepts, to be able to have fun through what we like and also create something that is part of us but that can not be expressed. Last month It was Pride Month and, as many of you will recall, we set an interview as prize for the fashion show! I'm glad to say we have the two winners here, with us, and they answered to my questions! Some great advices will be given along the way so continue to read! Without any further Since the Pride Festival was the first fashion contest you won. why don't you tell everyone a little about yourself.

Melinda Bayn: I'm not very good at talking about myself, but that's my best guess; I've been on this virtual platform for many years ... and I graduated as a model here in 2010 at an academy that Frolic had, at the hands of Ponchituti ... then I was very lucky to walk the catwalks with Locuala Madruga at her academy. Styles; I learned everything there. She is the culprit I think without knowing that I would like so much to change clothes to my avatar. After a disconnection for approximately 5 years I have taken up the second life for a year and a half and since then always trying to make myself a place in the world of fashion. Difficult, very difficult. The level is high, a lot! So I take breaks I go back to pick it up and there I am little by little, now I am achieving my goals. Dress up fashion, give my personality and always do something different. Daniel Salvatore Salvetti: Hi! my name is Daniel Salvatore Salvetti, I'm Argentinean. I have been in second life for about four years and a half, I've dedicated myself to the production of events which is my work also in real life. I have not spent as much time as I really would like due my rl but I have definitely enjoyed so much my stay in sl these last years. I consider myself a very creative, positive and friendly guy and that likes to raise awareness about equality and human rights.

How does it feel to take part in this kind of event, as well as to have won? Melinda Bayn: To be honest, I always presume to be; I felt very comfortable because I focused on helping; which is what I really enjoy the most. And winning it was a surprise because I was offered as a guest model; I wanted to get involved even more in helping than in competing and the jury really surprised me ... Daniel Salvatore Salvetti: I have been part of the Pride Festival this year, for me it was an incredible and new experience which allowed me to grow up as person and model. I have won the Mister Pride title means to me the possibility to be an spokesperson of the collective and the big responsibility to represent; with respect, dignity and honorability, the LGBT community in the SL Virtual World. It is a pride for me to be the first Mister Pride in Second Life because it will allow me to be a spokesperson of my community.

Why did you take part in the Pride Festival Fashion Show? Was it a fun experience? Would you recommend others to try it entering next year? Melinda Bayn: I participated because I wanted to support Israel in its project to organize a fashion event, I met him in its beginnings not more than a year ago and I was pleasantly surprised to see him at this level and do not hesitate to help him. Yes, I had a lot of fun. Of course, I would recommend it especially to those people who like me believe that love is in each person, each thing, in what we do ... regardless of the color, the shape or with whom. Daniel Salvatore Salvetti: I took part because I saw it as an amazing experience and excellent platform to be an spokesperson of the collective in second life, to raise awareness about the freedom of expression to which we are entitled, to fight and make LGBT rights visible in this world. The LGBT audience has always been a pioneering community in Second Life. I hope Daniel Salvatore Salvetti be an inspiration for many, I am just a normal guy, I am not perfect, I'm not looking for perfection, I'm not trying to be perfect, I just go normal in my own way and I'm not scared to be seen. I have suffered inequality and bullying for being "different" but I've fought against it and I got up. But as I heard one day "when you least expect it, life surprises you and has a wonderful story saved waiting for you to accept living it." So here I'm and you can be the next one! How did you choose your outfits? Was there anyone whom inspired you? How do you usually get inspired? Melinda Bayn: They were very clear in making the challenges, I could situate myself in the outfits with ease imagining that if I were there in real life as I would like to see myself. So that's what I tried to express, putting I a magical touch that is never missing in Second Life Daniel Salvatore Salvetti: We were requested to style three different themes; one casual fashion inspired in the streets of Manhattan, daytime outfit, NYC, something cool, one bath-suit inspired in Porto Cervo Bay in a Costa Smeralda yacht and the last which it was an evening attire inspired in the Hollywood Premiere on the red carpet. So I got inspired by these three themes at the moment to choose my outfits and select the items I used at the show. For me, at the time to participate as model contestant of the Pride Festival, Mister Gay World contest in real life was an inspiration to me as Roger Gosรกlbez, Mr. Gay World 2016, becoming role models in my life today as the first Mister Gay Pride in SL. And how I usually get inspired, well, basically by real life fashion.

Do you have any advices for our readers that may be interested in taking part in other fashion shows? Melinda Bayn: In case you do not know the basic knowledge of walking, create a Ao and create a Hud of poses; I advise you to take a basic class, there Israel taught many but you certainly have to practice a bit before... Those who already have these basic notions and like the challenges of style, walk on a catwalk, to them; I recommend you sign up. In all the competitions you learn daily, a lot and fast! Daniel Salvatore Salvetti: I had to prepare my avi not only physically and mentally but at the level that the SL fashion world is currently requiring; the fashion world is very competitive and is constantly changing, so you must be always at the forefront. Roger Gosรกlbez said in an interview in real life, and it's an absolute truth I would like to underline: "You have to prepare both physically and mentally because it is a very important event, so the level of demand is much higher. Prepare you not only physically but at the time of speaking also, of communicating." You have to know very well what to say and when to say it. "You have to know very well to communicate your ideas and express yourself - intelligence is enormously sexy - because not only you are asked for a expected physical, what is outer beauty but also you are asked to be the image of your collective in front of the world, providing visibility." He keeps saying, words by Roger Gosรกlbez, which I consider extremely important and that I took in consideration at the time to participate in this contest. He has been an inspiration to me.

So what I'll advice the ones who wish to participate at this event or any other is precisely this, prepare your avi in all the possible ways that allow you be a better person and professional, but above all, be someone memorable, that is distinguished from the rest and unique, someone who is worthy to follow and see for inspiration. A great figure or physique is nice, but it's self-confidence that makes someone really sexy. My idea of sexy is that less is more, the less you reveal the more people can wonder. Finally, I want to thank you for this interview and give me an space at your magazine to express myself and everyone for reading us, for following my work and being part of this incredible community. It's a real honor for me to represent the collective on Second Life. I have had a lot of support, I hope to be an inspirational person for my community as many have been for me.
