VIRTUAL SECOND NIGHT Hello dear readers, If computer companies manage to make it happen, 2016 will be the year in which virtual reality and augmented reality will have a huge spread. Companies like Facebook, Sony and Microsoft are preparing the market launch of many viewers with integrated headphones, designed both to superimpose digital information to the real world, it is to completely replace the latter with alternative simulated, generated by computer. What is the difference? Let's start with an analogy film. If virtual reality is Matrix, augmented reality is Terminator. As the name suggests, the sense of virtual reality is to get users to have entered into a completely new reality. Viewers - as Morpheus Sony or Facebook Oculus Rift - exclude the surrounding world and, using an old trick called stereoscopy, show slightly different images to each of the two eyes of a person. This tricks the user's brain, creating an illusion of depth and transforms the pair of images in the experience of a unitary three-dimensional world. Of motion trackers, mounted on both the viewer and outside, follow the movements of the user's head, updating his view depending on how you move. Of manual control devices, optional, allow him to interact with virtual objects. The result is the illusion of being completely away. Augmented reality is designed to maintain the user's connection with the real world Augmented reality, however, it does not eliminate the real world, but uses the computer to improve it. In Terminator, Arnold Schwarzenegger the killer robot sees a constant stream of information superimposed on his view of the world, a bit 'like the viewers to overlay used by fighter pilots. Augmented reality and virtual reality are close relatives and are based on similar technologies. But between the two technologies is a fundamental difference. Virtual reality is immersive: viewers must necessarily exclude the outside world. To look the other way, as you might do watching television, it is virtually impossible. The first applications for virtual reality, consequently, cover video games and movies, where users (at least they hope companies) will prove to be willing to withdraw. Augmented reality is designed to maintain the user's connection with the real Enjoy reading the magazine and happy holidays!!!

Pose, pose, pose! many poses Writer and photographer Mafalda2 Diesel

A

ll of us, without giving thought, we have used at least once a pose. For a photo, to prove an object into some land, to dance... animations in Second Life are simple but fundamental, they are the basis of many things and many passions or hobbies.

or a fashion blogger the poses are something essential to offer to her sponsors and her followers an attitude of real top model, or in a nightclub the poses are used to see beautiful girls dance in a sensual way. Very often they are undervalued and almost taken for granted when everything is based on their existence. Did you happen to go to an event and dance with your partner a nice tango? Very realistic to look for hours and hours. Do not forget the famous AO, animation override, they are animated poses that allow us to have a realistic attitude to the avatar as we continue our virtual experience. I believe that without AO I'd be crazy! *Laughs*

ven a hug can elicit sincere emotions because the poses are projecting onto SL what we would do to those who love, the way we would like to express gestures and movements: the poses are the heroines that move a whole world virtually tied to the reality moving it in a virtual world! Think about a simple kiss... when you'll kiss your partner you'll have to smile and think about these little great heroines!

W

elcome back dear readers and welcome in my corner, last magazine we met to talk about an important and sensitive topic, but in this month the topic is Halloween. Halloween is not just the most fun holiday of the year but also has very ancient origins and often very few people know what they are!

alloween’s origins date back to the ancient Celtic festival of Samhai. Celtic celebrated their new year on November 1. This day marked the end of summer and the harvest and the beginning of the dark, cold winter, a time of year that was often associated with human death.

VSN - Issue 53 October 2016 |

C

elts believed that on the night before the new year, the boundary between the worlds of the living and the dead became blurred. On the night of October 31 they celebrated Samhain, when it was believed that the ghosts of the dead returned to earth. In addition to causing trouble and damaging crops, Celts thought that the presence of the otherworldly spirits made it easier for the Druids, or Celtic priests, to make predictions about the future. For a people entirely dependent on the volatile natural world, these prophecies were an important source of comfort and direction during the long, dark winter.Today, however, we have abandoned ancient Celtic rituals, and we are dedicated to a different concept of Halloween!

his region is called Arranmore, very gloomy and disturbing with a dangerous abandoned railroad, crawling creatures on the ground and an abandoned villa overlooking the entire area from which rovengono chilling screams. In every corner you can find small details that will immerse you in the atmosphere gloomy and disturbing the feast of the dead, and who knows, maybe even be able to see some ghost wandering desperately in the woods next to the carcass of an old car. Very impressive and well structured though the region is very small, but able to earn five stars! Highlight: the gate that leads to the villa. You can not beat the Grim Reaper who welcomes you.

2016/09/09 "Project Bento Update w36".

W

hat it means? What the hell is going on here? The advent of mesh objects in Second Life world, started approximately in 2011, has changed the way to create avatars and buildings, so has changed, consequently, our perception of representing ourselves as surrogates and our second lives. While a lot of people are waiting for the opening of the new virtual reality platform called Sansar, the Bento Project is coming for nostalgics, including the nonverbal communication for avatars. A new skeleton will activate facial expressions, finger movements and all body language gestures with "dozens of new bones to support both rigging and animation, and accompanying new attachment points" including, first of all, extra limb bones for "wings" and "tails". Is it possible that Linden Lab is betting all on role playing games? Of course! We can also deduce it from the latest available mesh characters created for the 13th year anniversary celebration: hunters, vampires, magicians, steampunks and androids are ready for new and old users. Directly joinable for starters on the second life web site and selectable for senior citizens by the official viewer. We can say for sure that the Adverticing Era of big real companies and brends is ended, currently nobody makes money with marketing strategies on second life for a real job, due to a substantial decrease of users with a consequent increase of virtual value conversion rates in dollars. It remains only a great business to be pursued: the entertainment game! After all, why choose to be human in a magic world? It is simply fool, stupids!
