Dear readers, Dear readers, Hello and welcome to another fantastic issue of VSN! Incredible, marvelous things are awaiting. Can't you feel the heat of spring between this virtual pages? No? And what on earth are you waiting to look and feel it? Just do it! For this issue, we thought that it was time for a male face to appear on our cover. Isn't that picture incredibly awesome? With this picture we wanted to represent the strength of this months, which reminds a lot of a strong personality, without forgetting the beauty and kindness of spring. Ah, this is pure philosophy, isn’t it? I’ll be proud of myself, if this weren’t the words of our gorgeous photographer Mafalda. But we’re not here just to talk about spring. Lots of news are awaiting in these pages, and they are just for you! Our reporters, as always, have put a lot of effort to grant you only the best contents. E2V is closing. This is the awful news that, last week, touched a majority of customers and designers on the Grid . For those who don't know, E2V is a vendor system that relies in external servers to allow you to have a better and faster shopping experience. Several of our favorite designers use it, such as Cubic Cherry, Aii, Blueberry, Ghoul and Sintiklia and many, many more. Unfortunatly, there is no hope of it not closing since the RL work of the creator requires more of his time than the job that pays his bills. So I ask all of you to please be understanding. It is a lose lose for both sides, I understand that and I need to ask all of you to be patience. I already read on various social media some bitching and blaming around made from unhappy and uninformed customers. That's not how we (as a community) should handle bad things and bad moments. E2V, is a great system, isn't just the usual "click to pay" option that you have on your newborn store where you set It in the items properties. Is a more complicated and yet more easier way to let us buy stuff and let the designer be able to track them better. To give you all a full understanding in how these things works and how it's going to affect both sides, I asked to Kreao, the owner of Cubic Cherry, to give us an explanation.
Why Sansar is a new experience? The answer is simple: the regions and the tiny lands are designed to be explored with a much better graphics than ever before, and most of all, the environment is almost realistic. My humble judgment is positive for those who, like me, want to enjoy the beauty of virtual places as a result of fantasy, artistic extravagance, and the commitment of those who built that land.

Thank you again to have found the time to answer to these questions Lets start with the first one:How does a vending system works? Are they so different from one to another? Vending system are an essential tool for a store owner. They allow you to keep track of all your sales with, depending on the vendor system, various type of statistics. Also, they allow your costumers to have their past purchases redelivered, to accumulate store credit (if the designer decide to give this option) , to be able to gift the item to someone else, to use giftcards and much more. There are quite some of them around and, while the core functions are similar, they differ from one another for added feature and for how easy or not is to manage them. The loss of this vending system seems to be a grid wide disaster. Did you knew, months ago, that this was going to happen, or you had a short notice? It is a great issue indeed, many store owner - me included- are using E2V and, no, we didn't have an early notice, we found out just few days ago. Is It going to be a hustle to change system? Is there something that you can do as a store/designer to prevent the loss of many store credits and gift cards or this isn't something that you can't control? Yes, it will be. I have a lot of vendors in my store and I'll have to redo all of them so my store will have to be closed down while doing that. For store credits and such, I'm waiting. I know that the owner of E2V is working along with some of the other major vending system owners to give us a way to export those datas and implement them into the new system we'll choose to use. For giftcards I would sudgest to turn them into store credit (it works like that for E2V) asap. I will try to give to my costumers their store credits back after I switch vendor system ,if possible. What would you ask to all the customers, not just yours, to do while you and other store owners are trying to find a substitute vendor? I would ask to not panic, each designer has to choose what to do and they will prbably take their time to make the right decision. It's still a bit early, we all need to see what exporting option we'll be given and we'll see from there. Costumers could, maybe, try using some of their credit if they don't know what will happen to them but i think each designer will soon let ther costumer know what their plan are. So, that being said, I hope that the judgement and smoke will disappear as fast as it was created. I can't stress enough on this topic: calm down, be patient, and stay united with one another. We've faced some crisis already (i.e. a recent scam) and we'll survive this too. I understand that Second Life is all that some people can get in terms of a social life, and maybe for others it is their Life, period. I understand that, but I ask you all to understand that the problem isn't just yours. Designers are and will struggle along the way until they have more information. Some rely on Second Life to pay the bills or buy their food and medicine, so they are going to loose that income too while closing their stores to make this HUGE change. They didn't know. Some are even more upset because in February we lost hippoVEND, another vending system, and they went with E2V. Now they are in the same spot for the second time in the space of a few months. Nobody knew. Again, I urge you to be nice to store owners. Don't stress them, and don't attack them. Things are going to be fine. Use you credit, use your gift cards, and let's all be the kinder version of ourselves.

Mafalda: Hello and thank you for accepting my invitation to this interview. In the past we have already done interviews with talented artists and now I would like to introduce you to our readers. I read your biography and like you I love to capture the moment, something that can convey a feeling, an emotion. Tell us more about your Second Life photographic experience. When did this passion start? When was it revealed? Dadi: Hi Mafalda, hello to all VSN's readers! My passion was born just over a year ago, revealing in a completely unexpected way. I was looking for new places to visit and I found myself taking pictures and I realized that the idea of ​​looking for emotions inside a shot in a virtual world was not so senseless. Mafalda: Many artists and photographers rely more on external editors than on a real "good first one". What do you think about it? And more than anything else, why this choice to leave the photo shoot so "clean"? Dadi: In my opinion, the choice of using external editors depends a lot on wanting to find and/or make the perfect shot, in any case in a world like Second Life, where perfection reigns supreme, we often tend to want more and more.

My choice of shooting "clean", without too much graphic load, is my way of seeing things, I firmly believe that the graphic load transforms the whole shot and consequently the emotions that led me to the original shot. Mafalda: We got in touch thanks to a common knowledge that brought back the opening of your exhibition. Tell us something about "The shape of time". What did you come up with and how did you approach this theme as an artist? Dadi: "The shape of time" comes from a reflection made in the middle of the night and how time is dealt with in Second Life and beyond. Time is in everything that surrounds us and as an artist I have tried to represent time in all its forms, from the passing hours, to the changing of the seasons to go beyond, time is also in music and dance. It was a search beyond the obvious, I would dare to say almost... a search for nuances of time. Mafalda: What do you want to leave to the visitor who comes to see your art gallery? What is the feeling that moved you to build all this? Dadi: I would like to see visitors reflect on the"Time" with an open mind. Time also exists in this virtual world and we must never take it for granted. This is what I felt when I set up this exhibition, the feeling of taking advantage of my time in something concrete.
