GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
GENERAL EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS MSUM’s Liberal Arts and Sciences Curriculum (LASC) is our general education requirement. Here’s how you satisfy MSUM’s LASC as a transfer student: ▸ Earn an Associate in Arts (AA) degree in liberal arts or general studies from a regionally accredited college. ▸ Complete the Minnesota Transfer Curriculum (MnTC) OR North Dakota General Educations Requirements Transfer Agreement (GERTA) at another school. ▸ If you are working toward an AS, AAS, or diploma program at a Minnesota State college or university, any general education classes you complete will count toward the LASC requirement based on your school's designation.
Wondering how your credits will transfer? ▸ To help determine which credits will transfer to MSUM, fill out the Preliminary Credit Evaluation form at mnstate.edu/pce. ▸ Credit from your AA, AS, AAS or Diploma will transfer generously. Course equivalency information is available at transferology.com. ▸ Community and Technical College Transfer Guides will show you how specific courses from your college are applied to bachelor’s degrees at MSUM – mnstate.edu/admissions/transfer/guides. ▸ MSUM will accept up to 16 semester technical/occupational credits from regionally accredited community and technical colleges. Technical/occupational credits are generally accepted as elective credits. Operations Management will accept more technical credit hours toward your degree. ▸ Transfer credits will be officially evaluated by the Registrar’s Office upon admission to MSUM. Within three weeks of your admission, you will receive your Degree Audit Report (DARS), which will show how your credits transfer and which classes are still needed to complete your degree.

SCHOLARSHIPS
FINANCIAL AID, SCHOLARSHIPS AND COSTS MSUM is one of the lowest priced residential universities in the area and Minnesota, delivering a quality education at a cost that is affordable. You can take up to 19 credits per semester for the price of 12. Automatic transfer scholarships are easy — just complete the admission application process. Transfer scholarships are awarded automatically to undergraduate transfer students if you have successfully completed 24 semester or 36 quarter credit hours and are seeking your first undergraduate degree. You must be enrolled as a full-time student (12 or more MSUM credits each semester) to receive the scholarship. Apply early to be considered! Scholarships
