MSUM is experiencing the same enrollment challenges faced by universities across the country. During the next few years, our work will focus on the priorities of enrollment and diversity and inclusion. Specifically, we will: Focus on affordability and a distinctive student experience to grow our enrollment. ▸ Beginning fall 2021, MSUM simplified its tuition and fee structure so all students, regardless of course delivery method, pay same the same rate for course credits. ▸ Beginning fall 2022, we will award larger automatic scholarships ($2,000$14,000) for new entering freshmen upon admission. ▸ Strengthened our Student Life Pathways, a co-curricular learning model designed to help students get involved and stay involved during their MSUM career while building skills through their experiences.

Offer high-quality programs to deliver a unique academic experience and meet regional workforce needs. ▸ During the past year, colleges employed academic visioning to ensure we are meeting regional workforce needs and the needs of our students. ▸ A new Bachelor of Science in nursing was added in fall 2020 in partnership with Essentia Health to create the Essentia Health Center for Nursing. The collaboration addresses the national shortage of nurses and is an excellent complement to MSUM’s academic offerings.
