The Children and Family Programs (CFP) is a prevention, intervention, and treatment center where community members receive state-of-the-art evidence-based treatments for childhood disorders. This includes the most widely diagnosed childhood disorder in the country: Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, or ADHD. There are only three evidencebased treatments for ADHD: Behavior modification, stimulant medication, or the combination of the two. The CFP is one of the few centers in the area offering parent training (i.e. behavior modification) that has been shown to work in more than 175 research studies.

CHILDREN & FAMILY

In addition, the CFP offers in-services, treatment, and prevention services to parents and teachers working PROGRAMS with children with other behaviors that put them at risk for behavioral, social, and academic failure. These include children diagnosed with Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD), Anxiety, and High Functioning Autism Spectrum Disorder (HFASD).

Student & Alumni Testimonials

International conflict management focuses on conflict management, resolution, and peacebuilding, but the approach is very interdisciplinary …. I get to use [my communication background] to tie that into how we manage conflict, how we resolve it, and even look at peacebuilding strategies through communication. But other students have taken a business management approach, a strategy approach, historical narratives, and even digital technology. All of that fits into the way Kennesaw State does international conflict

management.

-Shea Holland, Ph.D. student in International Conflict Management

The [International Conflict Management] program suits well my learning needs as a development practitioner. The multidisciplinary nature of the program gives me a deeper understanding of how the various areas of international development (such as gender, conflict, justice, political economy, sustainable development) are interlinked. The program also provides many opportunities for the students to excel in their respective disciplines. The [School of Conflict Management, Peacebuilding and Development] professors

and staff are very friendly and accommodating.

-Cyrel San Gabriel, Ph.D. student in International Conflict Management

[The Center for Conflict Management] has been instrumental to my success, especially at the Fulton County Alternative Dispute Resolution office. I became a registered neutral and landed on the Fulton County Superior Court roster as a mediator. In my first year as a mediator on their roster, I had over 70 mediation cases including business, construction cases, domestic violence, and family conflict. Without the training that I received, none of that

would have come to fruition.

-Joe Risby, M.S. in Conflict Management and Center for Conflict Management
