Reynolds & Reynolds Parts Advisory Summit Mopar Masters Vendor Committee Meet with Supporting Vendor Another great vendor trip with Reynolds! On Wednesday, October 18th, 2023, the Mopar Masters Reynolds Vendor Commi ee flew in from all over the globe to meet with the Reynolds team for two days of great meetings. Our MMG group consisted of Rick Cutaia from Rick Hendrick Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram of Charlston, SC, Susan McDaniel from Bill Luke Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram of Phoenix, AZ, Alan Yancey from Hayes Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Lawrenceville, GA, Joe Handzik from Bettenhausen Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Tinley Park, Ill., Casey Brown from Covert Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Aus n, TX, and Kent Cogswell from Jack Phelan Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram of Countryside, Ill. We met with Jason Sideris, Brent McDorman, Jeff Adams, Chris Mejia, Cory Coler, and Anton Wehrman. Sco Santana was there as well….so everyone had to behave! We enjoyed a great dinner at The Rock and Brew Wednesday evening. It was so nice to catch up with everyone. Jon Strawsburg came out of re rement to join our group, which was a great treat and I really enjoyed talking with Jason’s wife Ronda. It was a blast catching up with everyone! On Thursday morning we began our Summit. First of all, their new office building is to die for. This is truly state of the art. This structure sits in the wooded area that houses the Hillsborough River which is most famous for the Tarzan movies of the 1960’s. No, we did not see any alligators while visi ng. Yes, we looked. We spent hours hashing over ideas, needs, short cuts, and easier ways to do things. It was not only very beneficial but nice to further build our rela onships and know who to contact for what.

Continued from Page 10 Thursday a ernoon, the team took us on the most fabulous boat ou ng EVER! We had great food and even greater company. The captain of the boat was also a chef! The views were spectacular and some even saw dolphins. Unfortunately, I was not one of them. On Friday, we resumed our mee ng and things got even be er. Rick Cutaia beat me at Price Is Right (only because I let him). We went to a really neat German Deli for lunch and went back in for more discussion. Friday evening, we were invited to the Reynolds awards ceremony. All out again! They even had a BBQ truck! It was very impressive the way this team interacted with each other. Every one of them was truly happy to be there and to be working together. The camaraderie was top notch, and the energy was off the charts. They define the DREAM TEAM. A big THANK YOU to our Reynolds Tampa Product Development Team! Submi ed by Susan McDaniel – Bill Luke CJD – Phoenix, AZ- MMG Immediate Past President

The View From My Office

With Kat Monteiro Hello World!

I hope everyone is enjoying the Fall weather, what I call the inbetween. Even though I do love Spring the most, I really do love Fall. I enjoy the cooler weather, the transi oning period of long, hot summer days, to breezy, shorter days, and looking at all the pictures people post on social networks of the beau ful changing colors of the trees and mountain sides. I am hoping to be taking my own pictures of the changing colors next year! I want to ride the Amtrak train from Portland, Oregon to Chicago and then fly out to Maine, where our friend will be camping so we can hijack another one of his vaca ons! The trip is s ll in the “thinking about” phase but I am hoping it will become a plan soon. As the seasons are changing, people are pu ng out their Halloween decora ons, and some are star ng on Christmas, while the auto industry is certainly upside down! I know this is a me of stress and worry for many of you. Long hours at work trying to figure out how to get parts for your customers, or cars for the showroom floor and car lot. I really hope they get all of this figured out sooner rather than later so things can get back to being just a regular chao c day at the office. I know Rick has been pu ng in the hours on his computer looking for parts and working on our inventory, trying to figure things out. At least at the me of wri ng this, I know things are star ng to get a li le be er, with our factory reps at the depots pulling parts, so we are at least receiving some parts orders. It’s not the first strike for many of you, and we all know we just need to hang in there and not panic ll we can make it to the other side of this. So Hang In There Baby!

For me, my latest adventure in this game of life, the re rement edion, was 2 nights in Las Vegas with our daughter, Terra. She called me in April and asked me “Hey Mom, U2 is playing in Vegas, if I buy you a cket will you pay for the hotel?” I said of course I would without a second thought! She knows U2 is my favorite band from forever ago and that I have never seen them in concert. So she bought 2 ckets for October 20 - her actual birthday! Rick booked 2 nights at the Linq Hotel for us, he was smart enough to book us a hotel that was close enough to walk to the venue. We arrived in Vegas on Thursday morning within minutes of each other, me from San Diego, her from Lincoln, Nebraska. Continued on Page 13

Continued from Page 12 Thursday night we ended up at our next NADA hotel The Palms. They have a really cool movie theater there. We watched the Taylor Swi Concert movie. It was so good and we watched it on one of those big, curved screens, which was amazing, and the sound was great! So we should all plan a movie night while in Vegas! It will be so fun - I hope there is a good movie playing at the me we are there. We woke up Friday morning and headed down to Hash House a Go Go for a birthday Bloody Mary and to share some Chicken and Waffles. The concert venue was The Sphere - have you heard of it? I say that in a joking manner because it is all everyone seems to be talking about these days! When Terra bought the ckets through a presale offer from her credit card in April, the Sphere wasn’t even finished yet - but once it opened it was a media explosion!

The Sphere is a $2.3 billion dollar, 580,000 square foot globe covered in fully programmable LED lights, it holds 17,500 seats inside, and has the most sophis cated sound system of anywhere in the world! The inside of the globe is wrapped completely by a screen that wraps up and over and around the en re audience, you feel completely immersed in whatever visual they have programmed on the screen. It was mind blowing! It was so incredible, I have no words. U2 extended their stay and will now be playing in February - ckets go on sale October 25th if you think you might want to check it out while you are there! Also they have an interac ve tour and show you can go to called Postcard From Earth. I am going to look at ge ng ckets early for that and hope I will be able to get them at a more affordable price than the $169 they were selling for the Thursday we arrived. Continued on Page 14

It is the most amazing place. Something I feel everyone should see. Of course you can be completely entertained just standing outside and watching all the crazy things they program on the outside! If you haven’t heard or seen anything on the Sphere, go check it out on YouTube! Rick and I are planning on being in Vegas during NADA so we will see many of you there. I hope everyone enjoys their Thanksgiving holiday, and that the hard winter doesn’t raise its head ll late in the year. Remember to take me to smell the roses, talk to strangers, smile, and give your loved ones lots of hugs! Till next me,

Reynolds and Reynolds recognized for supporting auto tech students

Reynolds and Reynolds is suppor ng up to 50 automo ve tech students at Sinclair Community College, helping with tools, cer fica ons and programming. Reynolds and Reynolds was honored recently by Sinclair Community College for its support of automo ve technology students at the Dayton, Ohio, school. Reynolds, also in Dayton, entered into a mul year partnership with Sinclair Community College this fall to support up to 50 students annually. The Reynolds and Reynolds Automo ve Technology scholarship is designed to help pay for tools, Automo ve Service Excellence cer fica ons and programing. “We believe that inves ng in educa on is an investment in the future success of our industry, and we look forward to seeing the posi ve impact these scholarships will have on the lives and careers of the students who receive them,” said Chris Walsh, president of Reynolds and Reynolds. “Dealerships need technicians and technicians need tools. Our hope is that these funds will help bridge the gap between graduate and employer, allowing them to fill vital roles with quality candidates who have the tools they need to get started quicker and ramp up to speed faster.” The U.S. Bureau of Labor Sta s cs projects there will be approximately 67,700 openings for automo ve service technicians and mechanics each year through 2032. Stellantis launches commercial vehicle unit to challenge Ford dominance The effort includes a new business unit called Stellan s Pro One and four electrified pickups arriving in North America over the next two years. The push for more sales to businesses and governments includes a new unit called Stellan s Pro One and four electrified pickups in North America over the next two years. In addi on to the electric Ram 1500 REV scheduled to arrive in 2024, the North American plans include a “new hydrogen solu on to come,” Stellan s said in a statement. Ram also has shown U.S. dealers a concept version of an electric midsize pickup. According to Stellan s, its 1.6 million global sales trailed worldwide leader Ford by 200,000 to 300,000 last year. Toyota was the global No. 3. “I would love to be No. 1 now, but we have s ll to do some homework to get there,” said Jean-Philippe Imparato, who is heading the new commercial vehicle unit. While Imparato declined to give a me frame on when he plans to surpass Ford, he reiterated Stellan s’ target of doubling commercial vehicle revenue by 2030. Asked if sales of 2 million units by 2027 could be sufficient to reach the volume target, he said “possibly.” Stellan s’ commercial vehicle sales increased by 5 percent to 1.1 million units through August. Continued from Page 31 New name Stellan s Pro One will serve as an umbrella for commercial vehicles that will con nue to be sold under the company’s various brand names: Citroen, Fiat Professional, Opel/Vauxhall, Peugeot and Ram. It will not report its own sales and financial results, a Stellan s spokesman told Automo ve News Europe. Ford began running its commercial division, Ford Pro, as a separate business in January. Imparato said Stellan s is No. 1 in light commercial vehicles in Europe and South America, No. 2 in the Middle East and Africa and No. 3 in North America. It has 20,000 sales outlets and a manufacturing footprint in 12 countries. Last year, Stellan s sold about 800,000 light commercial vehicles including pickups in North America, between 600,000 and 700,000 in Europe and the rest in its other global markets, Imparato said. They accounted for about one-third of Stellan s’ net revenues last year — about €60 billion ($63.2 billion) out of a total of €179.6 billion, he said. Imparato declined to detail the opera ng margin commercial vehicles generate at Stellan s, adding only that they are the group’s third-largest profit contributor. Ford, which began repor ng separate financial results for its Ford Pro unit in January, increased revenues by 25 percent to $28.8 billion and unit sales by 13 percent to 702,000 units in the first half. Ford Pro’s adjusted opera ng margin doubled to 13 percent in the first half. U.S. electric van for Ram Stellan s plans to sell a revamped version of its global electric large van in the U.S. in 2025 under the Ram ProMaster badge, the name currently used by the internal combus on engine U.S. variant of the European vans. By next year, all Stellan s vans will have an embedded data connec on as standard, allowing over-the-air updates and connected services. Stellan s’ Dare Forward business plan targets €5 billion in revenue from connected services by 2030. Source: www.autonews.com
