LEARN to SKI and BOARD! Parks and Rec has teamed up with Winterplace Ski Resort to offer some great skiing and boarding opportunities this winter at an incredible price! You get five Sundays of skiing or boarding with 90 minutes of instruction each time you visit, along with all equipment (including shaped skis and topof-the-line snowboards). If you would like to ski in March and have used all your dates with this package, you can get equipment, lift ticket and skis for only $20.40 by presenting your card. Registration deadline: Jan. 15. $125 for skiing, includes equipment rental, 90-minute instruction and lift tickets for all five weeks; $190 for snowboarding, includes board and boot rental, 90-minute instruction and lift tickets for all five weeks DATES

WINTER CAVING When it’s too cold to go outside and play, why not go underground where it is much warmer and have some fun! Follow us to discover a new world in a cave. Bring some food for a light picnic inside the cave and some clean clothes for a change after the trip. Minimum participants - 5; maximum participants - 8. $30 DATES

LET’S GO SNOWTUBING! Ride the largest snowtubing park in West Virginia at Winterplace! Join us for a Friday evening of family fun. The snowtubing park has 16 lanes, 5 tubing lifts and 600 snowtubes. Sip hot chocolate and take a break in front of the huge, natural stone fireplace. The lodge offers a variety of sandwiches, burgers, hot dogs and more. Participants must be 44-inches in height to tube. Adult supervision required for ages 9 and under. Meet at Montgomery County Government Center, 755 Roanoke St., Christiansburg. SENIOR DUTCH OVEN BREAKFAST on the WATER Start our the day with a Dutch oven cooked meal and a relaxing float on the calm waters of Claytor Lake! We will provide a guide and all the rafting equipment for a wonderful outing on the water.
