What to expect

We offer this course in both a two-day face-to-face and sixweek blended virtual format. It is designed to deepen your learning through a combination of live experience sessions, guided reflection, peer coaching and executive coaching sessions.

Drawing on insights from neuroscience, you’ll learn how to build self-assurance, expand your ability to influence others and signal your expertise, as we take you through the four primary dimensions of executive presence.

By the end of the course, you’ll have the skills to:

• Deepen your self-awareness and selfconfidence

• Build mental composure and resilience

• Engage with diverse audiences – in person and virtually

Designed for leaders

This course is ideal for senior leaders and managers with at least 10 years’ business experience. You might be a department head, director, vice president or general manager. You’ll also have a reasonable span of control – even if you’re only part of a small team.

Meet your facilitators

Sharon Longridge Program Director

An award–winning broadcaster formerly with the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, Sharon is passionate about building resilient, engaged and effective teams.

Over the last fifteen years, Sharon has helped thousands of media professionals and business executives in advanced communications and public speaking. She helps them develop the skills and confidence to present themselves in board meetings and investor briefings, conference keynotes and tough media interviews. She integrates the science of mindfulness and neuro-performance across her work.

Sharos has worked with private, public and nonprofit organisations, including Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Qantas, American Express, Settlement Services International and the Royal Flying Doctors Service.

In addition to a BA Communications degree and studies in Business Strategy and Corporate Wellness, Sharon holds the nationally recognised and accredited Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training.

Kristina Revenda Coach

Kristina Revenda is an executive coach, facilitator and strategist. A communication specialist with global experience, she holds a BA Hons in Design and Media Management and is an Institute of Executive Coaching and Leadership certified organisational coach.

Kristina supports individuals and teams to boost their performance, impact and wellbeing through smarter and more attuned ways of working. She is known for her strategic nous and ability to distil the complex into the simple. With her clients’ needs front-of-mind, her warmth, buoyance and candid style complement her practical, no-nonsense approach.

Kristina is an Associate and senior coach for Lever –Transfer of Learning, who awarded her ‘Coach of the Year’ in 2016 for outstanding services. More recently she was part of their select group of coach-facilitators assigned to work on the award-winning Telstra Leadership Program.

Your learning journey

Online format

Each week, you’ll be given prereadings and activities that set you up for participating in the course's weekly live experience sessions.

You’ll take part in three peer coaching sessions with people from your cohort – exploring topical issues, such as your leadership identity. You’l also have three personal executive coaching sessions over the phone.

Over the six weeks, you’ll have the opportunity to learn, practice and apply a range of concepts that support your leadership development.

Lastly, we’ll push you to reflect on your journey each week, thinking about ways to embed your learning into your own experiences and workplace.

Framing the Agenda Think

We’ll begin with introductions to the course and your peers. We’ll then get straight into discussions around what the ‘X-factor’ is – exploring key elements of executive presence.

We’ll cover:

• Adapt or perish: strengthening self-leadership

• Cultivating executive presence: decoding the X-factor

• The trust quotient: strengthening connections.

You’ll learn how to:

• Recognise the behaviours of adaptive leaders

• Examine your mental models and mindsets

• Identify the key aspects of executive presence

• Evaluate your executive presence capabilities and growth areas

• Understand the link between psychological safety and performance

• Recognise the impact of effective feedback.

This week we’ll be drawing on insights from neuroscience, looking at how we can rewire unhelpful mental patterns and cultivate inner congruence.

We’ll cover:

• Neuro-performance: unlocking self-leadership

• Managing pressure: the new science of stress

• Intelligent workflows: supporting peak performance.

You’ll learn how to:

• Investigate the negativity bias of the brain

• Identify common behaviours of the default mode network

• Re-assess your relationship with stress

• Recognise the impact of mindset on the stress response

• Understand the importance of cognitive control

• Re-model your work practice to improve productivity.

Speak Look

This week we’ll look at the use of every verbal encounter to demonstrate confidence, clarity and empathy.

We’ll cover:

• Clarity of purpose: refining measures of success

• Distil and amplify: determining critical concepts

• Now convince them: persuasive storytelling.

You’ll learn how to:

• Evaluate your audience avatar

• Assess your strategic and emotional objectives

• Deliver high impact presentations

• Employ tactics to overcome the forgetting curve

• Harness storytelling to influence others

• Use performance pressure skilfully.

This week is all about decoding the visual cues that can strengthen or undermine your executive image.

We’ll cover:

• The energy equation: managing this critical organisational resource

• The long race: building and sustaining your stamina

• Creating vital organisations: linking productivity and health.

You’ll learn how to:

• Recognise energy transfer amongst teams

• Examine energy management strategies

• Formulate an energy management goal

• Understand self-compassion in behaviour change

• Examine performance and wellness

• Investigate burnout mitigation.

Act Integrate

This week we look at how to effectively signal gravitas and exert influence beyond formal authority.

We’ll cover:

• The virtual connection: where convenience meets complexity

• Modulating the performance: harnessing non-verbals

• Designing the delivery: elevating your impact.

You’ll learn how to:

• Identify the barriers when connecting remotely

• Adapt your communications style to the context

• Use physical presence and vocal techniques

• Frame yourself and the semiotic of the scene

• Manage nerves and priming for performance

• Practice dynamic delivery techniques.

In your final week, you’ll present your leadership narrative. Drawing on the techniques we’ve covered so far in the program, you’ll deliver a four-minute presentation to the group. You’ll give and receive feedback, reflect on our shared learnings, and look at the next steps in your leadership journey.

• Growing self and others: providing effective feedback

• Your leadership evolution: where to next?

You’ll learn how to:

• Model authentic virtual presence

• Articulate your expertise and experience

Face-to-face

In this format, we’ve condensed the blended six-week course into two immersive days of learning.

You’ll be given pre-readings and activities that set you up for participating in the program’s live experience sessions.

On day one, we’ll explore key elements from the four dimensions of executive presence: THINK, ACT, LOOK and SPEAK.

We’ll cover:

• The critical dimensions of executive presence

• Elevating your mindset

• Amplifying your impact.

You’ll learn how to:

• Decode the ‘X-factor’

• Map your goals

• Refine your mental models

• Optimise your stress mindset

• Elevate your executive stamina

On day two, we’ll continue exploring the key elements from the four dimensions of executive presence.
