Jeanne-Marie returned to MMS in 2006 to assist in the Beginner’s Class and to teach Spanish in the Early Childhood program. She had been a French and Spanish teacher, as well as an assistant teacher in our summer programs (PK-5th grade) in 1995 and 1996. She also taught the Spanish classes (K-8) during the fall semester of 1999 and developed a Spanish program for Millhopper Montessori School at that time. She taught Spanish and French (grades 6-12) at Oak Hall School for twelve years and helped to develop the MS Foreign Language Program and the Foreign Language Curriculum (PK12) while she was there. During her graduate work at the University of Florida, she taught beginning French classes and tutored students in both French and Spanish. She earned a BA in Romance Languages with a minor in business from Catholic University. She worked in International Business before coming to Gainesville to do an MA in Romance Languages with an emphasis on Second Language Acquisition and a minor in Education from the University of Florida. Since August of 2010 she has been in charge of teaching all the Spanish classes (Beginner’s – 8th Grade) and continues to be the Morning Care Supervisor. Her daughter attended MMS from 4th8th grades.

Coach Cam Parker has been with MMS for five years! He has worked in summer camps for fourteen years. His sports background includes facilitating youth leagues and refereeing youth sports, not to mention being an avid sports fan. Coach Cam received his Bachelors degree from UF (Go Gators!) in Family, Youth and Community Sciences. He completed the State of Florida teacher certification program for Physical Education K-12 at Santa Fe College.

Mr. Obed Resendez is a graduate from the University of Florida, with a Bachelors of Science degree in Business Administration and a minor in Music. In his spare time he teaches percussion at a competitive level-with Drum Corps International and is a well renowned cymbals instructor in the DCI and WGI community. He has won two competitive world medals and has been featured in the book, Cymbal Technique 101 (for his innovative way of approaching cymbal techniques and practices). While at UF, he was a drummer for the Florida pride of the sunshine gator marching band and performed for the entertainment of the 2008 championship game and the 2009 sugar bowl. As a drummer, he has also had the opportunity to perform with pop artist, Enrique Iglesias. His musical theater experience includes a production of West Side story for JSU and Ocala civic theater’s production of Thoroughly Modern Millie.
