Come On Back! We’d love to see you again! MLC considers it an honor and a privilege when alumni and friends come to campus. We will do our best to make you feel at home and help you enjoy your experience here on the hill. We pray that your reunion will be a time of happy memories, lots of laughs, and of course gratitude to our wonderful God, who has provided us with this special place.

4

Let’s Get Started! A successful reunion starts with a committee of four to six people. This is large enough to easily share tasks. Make sure that your committee members represent a diverse background. This could include former school interests (e.g., athletes and musicians) or career paths (e.g., layperson, called worker). A diverse committee increases your turnout.

We’re here to help The director of Alumni Relations can provide you with MLC’s most up-to-date contact information to reach out to your classmates. The director is available to assist you as a member of your planning committee. We have the experience and community connection (if you choose New Ulm as your site) to create a smooth experience for your reunion planning. If you prefer to plan on your own, you’re always welcome to reach out with questions. Alumni Relations is able to provide the following: • All printing and postage costs for correspondence • Design and mailing/emailing “Save the Date” postcards and formal invitations • Design of online registration survey • Printing of memento booklet, if desired • Registration table and name tags, if in New Ulm

The Planning Committee Your planning committee may include: 1. Reunion Chair—Runs meetings, makes agendas, and delegates tasks. 2. Secretary—Keeps meeting minutes and sends them to the committee in a timely manner. 3. Treasurer—Collects fees and makes all payments. Keeps clear and accurate financial records. 4. Database Research Coordinator—Tracks and researches current contact information for the class. Keeps a complete digital list of contact information. Computer skills are important. If you’re having an offsite banquet meal: 5. Banquet Coordinator—Plans a banquet meal, secures a venue, works with the menu/caterer, secures audio/visual needs. Preferably a classmate who is local. 6. Banquet Program Coordinator—Plans the banquet program, secures a Master of Ceremonies (MC), finds speakers, and designs printables (program, menu, etc.). 6

Make the Fun Happen! As soon as your Planning Committee is formed, choose a date for your reunion. (Input from your classmates is important when choosing a date.) Then go to the Alumni Reunions web page and register your reunion. Consider the following in your planning: • Daily Schedule • Date to send a “Save the Date” postcard • Date for formal invitation and digital registration survey • Total cost per person (include at least a $5 buffer) • Local accommodations • Reservations for venues, transportation, presenters, and/or tour guides • Memento booklet or other class keepsake • Class gift in support of MLC • Worship opportunities
