MAC Junior Tennis players Trisha Sundaram and Abby Carpenter were recently recognized with Sportsmanship Awards. “One of our strongest endeavors in the tennis program is to create good sports on and off the court, not just good tennis players, so we couldn’t be prouder,” says MAC’s Tennis Director Kim Steinmetz. Abby, who is a junior at Lafayette High School, was recognized with

the G18 Junior Sportsmanship award at the St. Louis District Annual Awards. Trisha, who was recognized at the November Sweet 16 Tournament, has been taking lessons at the MAC for the past year and recently joined the Junior Tennis program when her family became members. She began playing tennis at the age of 6 and started competing in USTA tournaments at 9. Over the

past few years, she has certainly made her mark, achieving high USTA rankings of 14th in the nation in the girls 12 and under and 57th in the girls 14 and under divisions. The 15-year-old freshman at Marquette High School was ranked #1 in the girls 14 and under division of USTA Missouri Valley five-state section and is currently ranked #8 in the girls 16 and under division.
