SPR ING 2020

In this time of great uncertainty, one thing remains quite certain despite the pandemic and the associated obstacles, the Sisters of Mercy taught us to live lives of abiding consequence. I believe that you are all examples of that teaching in action.

I encourage you to share our charisms, gifts given to us that we give to others, as you progress throughout your personal and professional lives. I’m confident that you will use them as a guide along your journey - Mercy, Service, Justice, and Hospitality. To be very clear, Commencement is the highlight of the semester. If we could have conducted an in-person ceremony in May or this summer and also could be sure of the safety of our guests and the success of the ceremony, it would have been done. This is my last Commencement as your president. I have had the honor of greeting thousands of Misericordia students as they crossed the stage. I will miss the opportunity to do it with you. If you can, please return in December when we plan to host a special ceremony just for you. We are very proud of each one of you‌Misericordia Proud. We are grateful that you were, and will remain, a part of the Misericordia community. Please pass that gratitude along to those who assisted you in accomplishing your degree and preparing you for the future. The world is in need of compassion and gratitude. Once again, on behalf of all of us at Misericordia University, best wishes and congratulations. Regards,

Thomas J. Botzman, Ph.D. President

COMMENCEMENT
