1: The Sexy Oversized Bag With its various compartments and hidden pockets, the oversized bag holds everything you would need for your stay at friends and family. 3: Sweatshirt Chic Sweatshirts are no longer just your laundry day attire. You can kick them up a notch and create a super cool holiday look by adding things like a leather pleated skirt or a great printed leggings. With this holiday trend you'll be cozy, comfortable, and cute all at the same time.

20

4: Big-Faced Watch A woman's watch is a staple jewelry piece. A great watch shows that you take life seriously but, with so many different styles, you can look grown and have so much more fun. Adding other embellishments like delicate bracelets or charms will cause your wrist to look like a festive party. Oh, but be sure to keep track of time because you have a few more stops to make!

5: Manicure Masterpieces Tis the season to stand out! With all the new nail trends from minx, textures to some serious artwork, you have fashion right at your fingertips. If you want to try something different, this is the perfect time to do so. It will be a great addition to your New Year’s look.

6: Musical Magic What’s one of the best things about the holiday season? Holiday music! With these wonderful fashion essentials, you definitely need a playlist to set the mood. Holiday jingles along with the hottest tracks of the year will give you the perfect playlist and will get not only you going, but the whole family! As the year—and this list—comes to a close, it’s especially important to remember the real reason for the season. So enjoy looking great and walking with confidence for the holidays, but most of all, thank God for the adventures of 2013 and continue to enjoy every moment with the ones you love.

Glam Looks For The Holiday

By Beena Jassal

It’s that time of year, ladies!! Time to ring in the new year, put on those party hats and

celebrate the end of one year, and the beginning of another! Time to peruse those boutiques for the cutest, sexiest glittery party dress we can put our hands on! With so many options out there, how can we even begin to narrow down some great looks for the biggest party going down? Check out some looks below:

Its all about the sequins and the glitter!! This BCBG beauty is sure to be a show stopper! The perfect length, and the perfect placement of sequins is sure to make you sparkle no matter where you stand! The sheer mesh sleeves on this girl add a perfect amount of detail as well as the asymmetrical embellishments strategically placed. Pair this baby with a nice peep toe shoe, a gold or black clutch (as pictured), and in my opinion, a beautiful cocktail ring, you are set to dazzle that party just like the new years ball in Times Square. This dress, called the Anaya Long Sleeve Braided Sequin Dress, retails for $428, and is also available in black.

40

I love this dress! Who says a dress has to be tight and clingy for it to be sexy?! This shift dress is perfect with the right amount of sparkle and the sexy keyhole back! This dress is perfect for those with a trick figure because the dress delicately skims the body, hides those unsightly bulges, and draws attention away from the problem areas of a midsection and focuses right on your gams: which will of course undoubtedly be showcased in what I think should be strappy stilettos, offset by the perfect pedicure. This dress is by “Dress the Population” brand, and is called the “Brooklyn Sequin Shift Dress.” It is sold at Nordstrom and retails for $238, and runs true to size. Sometimes you just don’t want to do a cocktail dress, or a short tight little outfit. In that case, step up your game with this beautiful all over sequined gown with thigh high split, from Halston Heritage. The primary focus on this dress is the sexy low back and display of leg peeking out. This silhouette gown is sure to separate you from the rest of the crowd and make you the most elegantly dressed, sophisticated woman in the room. This dress from Halston Heritage, is sold at all fine department stores, and Halston Heritage boutiques, and retails for $495. You can never go wrong with a little red number! This cute Betsey Johnson piece is adorable with little cap sleeve detail, sequin embellishments, and cutout accents. The sheer illusion cutouts are strategically placed for breathability and just the lightest touch of sex appeal. A T-strap stiletto would complement this dress perfectly, along with a stunning piece on the wrist: Nothing says knockout like lady in red, especially around the holidays! This little Betsey Johnson dress is known as the “Illusion Sequin Cutout Sheath,” and is available at Macy’s: retails for $158.

Where Is Christ In Christmas? By Jackie Jones

The hustle and the bustle of the holidays are upon us. Children and even some adults are writing their letters to Santa. The department stores are open from dusk to dawn with holiday deals that you just can’t resist. The Christmas carols are playing through the mall as you shop, on the radio and on television. It’s so exciting! Flashing and colorful lights cover our windows and frame our homes. The aroma of spices and cinnamon brings a smile to our faces and make us feel so very warm inside. It’s Christmas. One of my favorite holidays, actually, it is my favorite holiday. It’s a season of togetherness and warmth. But it is more than just the gifts under the trees. It is the day that we celebrate the birth of Jesus, the savior of the world. Are we forgetting the true reason for the season? Did the belief in Santa Claus take away the belief in Jesus Christ. Are we laying away gifts or laying down our hearts to celebrate the birth of Christ. Where is Christ in Christmas? It is important that we teach our children that Christmas is not about the big boxes with the red ribbons under the tree or the big guy in the red suit and the long beard. It is about Jesus being born in a manger. It’s about Jesus being the savior of the world. We must not lose sight of the true reason for the season. The story of the birth of Jesus Christ can be found in the Gospels in the Bible. This is a holy holiday that honors the birth of Christ and is observed by most Christian churches around the world. This is a time to reflect on your life and be grateful for all of your blessings. This is a season to share your love with the people you love. This is a season to teach the love of Jesus Christ and share the savior with the world. This season as you sit around the Christmas tree opening your presents, share the story of Jesus. The wise men brought gifts to the manger to present to Jesus at his birth. Let’s share gifts with each other in honor of his birth. Let’s share the true meaning of Christmas to the world!

Lonely Snowflake By Angel aka Tree

It’s cold outside- I’m all alone and there’s nothing left to do But sit shiverly amongst a crackling fire thinking about you You are the summer in my heart- the spring within my soul Autumn has come as the winter’s peak fills this empty hole A joyous time to spend with friends far off and also near To be thankful and regard the life I forever shall hold dear I’ll always remember times we shared beneath the mistletoe This dawn of day snowflakes shall fall and I’ll behold their glow

Hard work and a friendly

attitude might get you that big promotion, but a few key presentation influences - from your eyes, to the strands of your crown, to the soles of your daring shoes - will help you pave that road to success. Finding a stylish, yet professional garb to wear to work can be challenging, but these business chic styles will certainly give you some great ideas on how to combine modern style with business attire. Want your look to scream “promotion”? Follow these styling, hair and makeup habits from the professionals.

56

Mariah Givian is wearing Batwing Sleeves check your sleeves at the door. There’s no competition in the workplace with a flared blouse. A sleeve always speaks volumes about your presentation. Make sure the cuff of your sleeve hits just below your wrist when holding your arms at your sides. Quick tip: if you find that they are too short, roll them up to a ¾ sleeve.

China Burlison The Boss Lady - Just belt it. The belted palazzo jumpsuit is comfortable and classy. If you decide to wear a belt with a skirt, dress or jumpsuit that comes with belt loops, make sure the belt won’t awkwardly shift around throughout the day. Quick tip: safety pins become great makeshift belt loops!

58

Carmen Barreda –The Roaring Lady - Animal prints give attitude all day long and you definitely can’t overdress with a LBD (little black dress). You can always pair a LBD with print and a pop of color any day. Quick tip: If you feel that you LBD is too clubby or even too short, try it on with a blazer and textured stockings.

Brittany Hartman – The Tailored Leading Lady - styled in a cobalt blue tailored suit. Nothing looks more professional than a tailored suit. Wearing a suit to work is definitely one way to create a strong and professional overall look at the office. Quick tip: If your shirt fits perfectly but it’s gaping, try using double-stick tape or fashion tape to smooth the seams together.

While you may think that some styles are too flashy for the work-

place, these chic officewear styles however, are showcasing that you don't have to look boring in order to be professional, and that pairing the right types of clothing and accessories together can easily create that casual business look that you've been looking for. From blazers paired with fitted slacks to structured LBD’s and retro-inspired ensembles, these chic office wear styles will definitely have you more excited about dressing up for work now.
