Tuip Special

FROM THE EDITOR’S DESK “Being glamorous is a charm affecting the eye making objects appears different from what they really are.” Why hasn’t someone had this brilliant idea before? A magazine you can carry around, shop with and even read when you are squashed sardine style in the crowd. Well... here we are again with the ‘GLAMOR AND FASHION’ issue for our lovely readers. You know what??? We are going to make you feel good! Glam, Glamour, Glamorous this is one single word we hear everywhere and in different meanings. It’s a glitzy word which reminds us of movie stars. Glamour is about a new feeling in the air. We may be successful, modern, sophisticated people but still have a funny turn where we find the perfect pair of kitten heels. We are here for you to help you celebrate those memorable and indulgent moments in your life, from downing tools at work to show everyone your classic ways of style, organizing a fun mocktail party with tiny bag and foxy shirts compulsory... Do I see that eyebrow rise? Tulip is here to be your instant passport to a champagne lifestyle. Glamour and fashion are illusions of magic and also when we talk about it we say that we are very glamorous people! It’s a portrait of a star and a form of falsification. Blindly following fashion is not the talk of the day, it never was and it never will be. A true fashionista is the one who is not just a victim of style, picking up everything that looks attractive on the ramp, mannequin or the rack of a luxurious done-up boutique, but someone who makes ‘the best of the best’! Despite the obsession of shopping remember one thing; glamour has its own dark sides behind this highly showy and fashionable world. I don’t mean to accuse the glamour world but i personally feel that the fashion industry is losing it’s real charm and becoming a fake world, where there is too much too handle. But at last it’s all about everyone’s personality and how they handle this extremely over-sized glam world! Celebrate the start of a new stylish season with the pages inside. On the cover we have the dashing Karan Oberoi and the special features decoding many true faces of the glamour world inside and the gambling drama while the piece of life presents a parody of the extra marital affairs continued till today .It’s all yours, no less than you deserve and crafted with love from the Tulip team. Happy Reading!!! THINGS I’VE LEARNT THIS ISSUE For a woman we use glam for the glow she has compared to others is not necessary about her dress or her beauty, is not being trendy either, but being fashionable with your own way! Fashion is a presentation of yourself it has to do with the way of being but it can be dangerous too. Extra marital affairs have opened doors now in every relationship and is creating only sour disappointments. Regards,

Jordin Sparks

J

Slims Down

Jordin Sparks made headlines over the weekend, but it wasn’t for a new album or single. Instead, the former American idol champion posed on the red carpet of Muhammad Ali’s Celebrity Fight Night in Phoenix with a new figure sources say is 30 pounds lighter than the one she carried around in 2010. Slimmed down a size 6, Sparks shined at the event - which isn’t to say she was overweight before. But there is a noticeable difference in Jordin’s look from just a month earlier, isn’t there? Sparks has said she loves “food and curves” too much to ever be considered “stick thin,” adding a couple years ago: “I learned that I’m not ever going to be a size 2. I would look as weird as a size 2. Somebody would blow and I would fall right over. It just wouldn’t be healthy

Petra

Dancing For the Tsunami Victims

P

Petra Nemcova’s performance wasn’t the best of the Dancing with the Stars season opener, but the supermodel’s effort was easily the most emotional. In 2004, she survived, barely, a tsunami in Southeast Asia that claimed thousands of lives, including her fiancé. Her pelvis was shattered in four places. During rehearsals for DWTS March 11, Petra, who worked tirelessly to promote relief efforts, almost quit when she learned of the devastation in Japan. Ultimately, the Czech beauty decided to stick it out and use the show as a chance to “shine more of a light on the lives of children who are forgotten.” Given her obstacles, her opening routine was more than respectable.

Rihanna’s

Concert Ticket Sales Were Not Good

R

Rihanna’s concert ticket sales are so sluggish, reports say, she may have to call off some dates. That’s not what we’d expect, but her 2010 tour had similar issues. After poor US concert pre-sales last month, Rihanna has been advised by her manager Jay Brown to actually cancel some domestic dates on her “Loud” tour. For example, Ri’s scheduled to perform at TD Garden in Boston July 24 with Cee Lo Green. Only 3,700 tickets have been sold, with 15,000 needed to break even. Rihanna split from her first manager, Marc Jordan, who launched her career, over a disagreement after her 2010 tour. A rep for Jordan declined to comment. Her new manager, Brown, is part of Jay-Z’s Roc Nation and promises “changes.” But an insider said, “She should’ve been doing theaters and smaller venues.” She still demands the bells and whistles to make it a blow-out show, too: “Normal diva requests,” an insider said, “which is tolerated, when you make money.” 8 TULIP APRIL 01-15, 2011

Katrina

Bollywood

inspired by Gulzarji

She is definitely one of the most beautiful women in the Hindi Film industry. However, no one has ever written a love poem for Katrina, she believes that love is the only beautiful thing in the world. The actress wishes that Gulzar saab would write one for her. Recently at the launch of Pritish Nandy’s book ‘Love Poems’ she said that nobody has ever written a poem for her But if actually someone writes a poem she thinks that will be very romantic. Gulzarji has written many poetry books and innumerable songs, was also present at the event. He said Inshallah, he would for sure write a poem for Katrina. Even though love is known to entail pain, disillusionment, disappointment, still she dosen’t want to be pessimistic about love. She would rather want to have a positive approach to love. She believes that there can be a happy ending, because love is the most beautiful thing in the world said Katrina.

Priyanka

made Kareena to wait

K

Kareena Kapoor drove down all the way from Pune to Mumbai for shooting her televised act for an award ceremony. What should have ended in a few hours took them forever, thanks to Priyanka Chopra. Bebo finished with her make-up and hair and arrived on the stage to see that it was already occupied by Priyanka Chopra. She had to wait for four hours before she could actually shoot her performance. A source at the awards revealed that Kareena landed at Yash Raj Studios around midnight; she found that the stage was occupied by Priyanka. She waited patiently for some time. On spotting her, Piggys came down from the stage and told her that she could not give the stage until 1 am bur Bebo said she has already assigned the stage at 12am. Priyanka continued to rehearse till 4 am, by that time, the exhausted Kareena had left for home. Normally, the fiery Bebo would have flared up because she was kept waiting for more than four hours. Although, she was smarting with humiliation, she maintained her cool. Later, she gave a call to the organizers and gave her piece and they explained it to her that because of some technical problems, Priyanka’s act took a longer time.

upsets Salman Khan

Karan Johar completely broke down when SRK started speaking about his former friends Farah Khan and Salman Khan. SRK’s episode with Karan was emotional where Shahrukh Khan has been caught in a mellow, introspective mood. He is emotionally vulnerable, revealing things that have hurt him in the last year. A source on the sets said that when Karan pointed out people feel that old friends Farah Khan and Salman have problems with Shahrukh Khan, SRK said that he doesn’t know how to make friends and had no clue how to keep them.”If Salman and Farah are upset with me then it is 100 percent my fault, but I can’t pick up the phone and say sorry. I cannot apologize because I have ego issues, but because I cannot say get myself to ask people to come back to me. Once I did ask my parents to come back to me and they did not.” said Shahrukh. He also admitted that one of his biggest enemies is his cell phone as many of his friends have complained that he does not take their calls and ignores them This coffee on the couch episode with SRK was emotionally unplugged and more than humor unplugged. Tollywood

NTR’s next film to be titled as ‘Dammu’

N

NTR Jr. is awaiting the audience response for his magnum opus Sakthi which is due for release on March 30 (tentative date). He has already started working for his next movie under Surender direction. Oosaravelli and Rachcha are the titles being speculated but the unit is yet to confirm the official title. The actor has also signed a film under Creative Commercials banner that is to be produced by KS Rama Rao. Jr. NTR would team up with Boyapati Srinu for this film. Shruti Hassan is zeroed in as the female lead in it. The latest buzz says that this film is titled Dammu (Dhammu means strength). KS Rama Rao has registered this title on his banner recently at Film Chamber. Speculations are ripe that is the title for NTR Jr. and Boyapati’s film. With ‘Shakti’ ready for release followed by untitled film with Surender Reddy and this one with Boyapati Sirnu; most possibly we might get lucky for three movies from junior ntr in this year. That is great going Young Tiger.

Ileana

demands 2 Crores for a film

T

Tollywood grapevine is abuzz that hot and sexy Ileana is acting too pricey these days. Telugu cinema has been her top priority over a period of time. But it seems like her priorities are changing with changing times. Ileana was recently roped into Nanban movie (3 Idiots Tamil remake) which is directed by Shankar. She was reportedly paid 1.5 crore to act in this movie. Also she is making her Bollywood debut with Barfee. With opportunities flowing in, Ileana is slowly moving away from Tollywood. If anyone insists to sign her in, Ileana is demanding a bomb to either scare them or to cash in on their offer. It is rumored that she demanded a hefty sum of Rs. 2 crore to sign up a big film. Ileana who came to the notice of these rumors is yet to respond. Shakti and Nenu Naa Rakshasi that are slated for release in April would decide her fate in Tollywood.

Trisha-Prabhas’s Midnight Masala leaked

T

Trisha often comes across as a petite and fragile girl onscreen but it is often discussed in cine circles that she is a ‘wild’ cat off the screen. While that is one side, here is another tidbit got from a source. Apparently, after the audio release function of her film ‘Teen Maar’ it is heard that Trisha stayed back that night in Hyderabad. Grapevine is that she spent her time with Prabhas. Few other sources say even Prabhas was not accessible at that point of time. The cine folks say that both PrabhasTrisha are very close friends since long and this bloomed at the time when they did ‘Varsham’ and ‘Pournami‘. Well, all know about their friendship so those who heard this said “What’s wrong? Both of them must be busy spending some private moments. They are ‘close’ friends and must have had some ‘late night dinner’ plans”. The last statement came with a wink and tongue-in-cheek expression though.

IPL4

No Multiple Screenings

I

It’s confirmed that fans of ‘slam-bam-thank you-and-scram’ form of cricket are likely to face disappointment as matches of IPL4 will not be allowed to be screened in cinema halls as per an unnamed source in BCCI. Bollywood, the door’s open for you! This decision has been complicated by the fact that former IPL commissioner Lalit Modi, after being removed as IPL Commissioner for his dealings during his tenure, had signed many contracts. One such contract pertains to the global Rs 330-crore theatrical rights contract signed with Entertainment and Sports Direct in 2009, for 10 years. Due to on-going investigations, theatrical rights are in jeopardy. This is why an unnamed source in BCCI told Business Standard newspaper that though, “There has been no decision yet. The matches may not be screened this year.” Big-budget films will probably see the light of the day since IPL4 audiences are likely to flock back to their television sets.

Windies seniors should learn from Sachin

W

West Indies coach Ottis Gibson was severely critical of his senior players and said that they should learn a thing or two about shouldering responsibility from iconic batsman Sachin Tendulkar. “A lot of people need to look at somebody like Tendulkar who is a sort of senior statesman in the Indian team but he seems to be the hungriest guy of the lot,” Gibson told reporters after his team’s 10-wicket defeat against Pakistan. “Therefore he gets runs almost every time he goes out to bat. India still relies on him. We need to rely on our senior players the way India rely on him.” Making no bones about the inconsistency of his team that saw them surrender meekly in Mirpur yesterday, Gibson hinted that some of the senior players may face the axe. “We are very very disappointed with our performance,” the coach said. “It’s a fact that our senior players have not performed. When the going got tough, we did not stand up to it,” Gibson told the reporters. Gibson would not attribute the latest defeat to the slow wicket. It was not a bad wicket at all. It was a combination of poor batsmanship and perhaps very low confidence.” APRIL 01-15, 2011 TULIP 11

SPECIAL BONDING

Love on the rocks! By Bhuvana Balaji

Life sometimes stuns us with the twists and turns. It can get a woman who doesn’t believe in love to find the love of her life in a person from an entirely different cultural boundary and get a man who didn’t really have marriage in his vocabulary to lead a blissfully married life! Martin D’Costa and Reshma Pasupuleti are THE couple we are precisely describing. Let us have a sneak peek into the life of this foreigner guy and this Telugu girl who moved into tinsel town recently and have made it big in their own way. A successful marriage requires falling in love many times; always with the same person; Martin and Reshma have definitely done so! The way they met and how they got together is very amusing; but at the same time it goes to show that when you are destined to be together; religion, country, culture and race just don’t matter. “We met at the Atlanta Airport. I missed my flight and I took a Delta flight. I had never seen Reshma around and I know almost everyone over there. I first saw her eyes and I was like ‘Who is that!’ First time she completely ignored me and then I kept going by the same flight. I switched from South West to Delta four times just to get to know her. I somehow finally convinced her to go to lunch with me, that too at the airport. When she said she was a vegetarian, I didn’t even know what that was. That is how we first met. She was questioning me like police. I was surprised when she asked me personal questions during our first lunch, but I knew she was asking out of innocence. I was very curious to know more about her,” martin says with a radiant smile on his face as they remembered that nostalgic moment and described how hilarious it was. Martin is a kick boxing champion, a native of Atlanta, who still keeps touring the world for matches. He also owns a fitness training centre in Annapurna studios which is the hub for all the Tollywood actors and celebrities in tinseltown. He also has worked in the Tollywood movies yet to be released and is playing a negative role in the upcoming NTR starrer, Racha. Reshma now works in Hyderabad as an English news reader for the best local English news channel in South India, TV5. She stayed in America with family for

SPECIAL BONDING

about 15 years. She was working as an airhostess and that was when she met Martin. “I generally used to hang out with the Indian crowd out there. Being an Indian, especially being brought up in the US, my parents were very particular about what I did. I used to go only to the Indian parties. Even after work, I used to go straight to the Ashram and meditate. That’s all I did as an everyday routine.” Martin then nonchalantly smiles and chats about how their next meeting and this beautiful relationship happened. “Our second date was when I took her to a wedding with me when I generally don’t even go to one! And bang! After three months we were walking that aisle…everyone wearing Indian clothes. I didn’t ever think about getting married. But it all just felt right and I knew I was doing the perfectly right thing.” Reshma smiles fondly and remarks about how he was actually the reason to make her believe in love. “I never really believed in love before I met him, I thought it was just a lot of drama and nothing else. When I met him, though I gave him a hard time, I kinda knew deep in my heart that he was the guy. I was just being very cautious in the beginning. I was talking to a friend and I told her pointing out at Martin, ‘I think I will marry him someday’, and touchwood, it’s been just been amazing being with him,” says Reshma, flashing a beautiful smile. Talking about their wedding and the convincing they had to do before that, Reshma says, “We had two weddings, one back in America and one after coming over to India. My parents were shocked initially because I wanted to marry a foreigner. Martin immediately quips saying, “When she first wanted me to meet her parents she told me sternly, ‘You can’t be you. You gotto act like you own that construction business you have got, and please cover your tatoos.’ I own a small construction

firm which I don’t even do anything about because I am a kick boxer by profession. But eventually, her parents accepted me into their family. Her mom is an amazing person, she is this typical Indian woman who is very religious and spiritual, but at the same time she is broad minded. Her dad is a very calm and pious guy too. Reshma is a splitting image of her mum.” Looking back at those days, he recalled how his first meeting with her parents was absolutely hilarious for him and shocking for them. He added saying he was glad everything turned out very well later and how comfortable they are around each other now. As he casually spoke about life in India and how it has treated him, he animatedly talks saying, “It is almost four years since we got married and we are going amazingly well. My perception of India was very bad because that is how they show this country on TV. I got cheated the first time I came to India. I got down at Bombay with 15000 bucks in my pocket. I had a connecting flight to Chennai after about eight hours. And trust me; I got down from the flight in Chennai with 10 rupees. They robbed me with a smile on their face for my stay and travel. But I will surely say that people in India have an amazing heart. I have been to many places around the world because of the profession I am in, but I can surely say that the people here are warm, very friendly and the nicest. “When it comes to nightlife and all, the US is an amazing place, but if you want to take your life in slow strides and discover yourself, spend time with family and friends; India is the best place.” Reshma talks more about their wedding and Martin’s family and she smirks and says, “He thinks we got married because of his charming ways and his sense of humor, but one of the APRIL 01-15, 2011 TULIP 19

The ‘Fall in and Fall Out’ of Extra marital affairs

By Deepa S K

From every Raja to Rancho, they all had extra marital affairs. If you don’t believe me, at least believe our movies that have one: many heroines. Movies truly depict the times of our ages. So, is it an acceptable thing or is it a matter of prestige or is it just for the pure fun. The term itself scrawls your forehead and brings a frowning look into your eyes. Is there any other most detested term like ‘extra marital affair’ in relation to a family life? Wait! Have you ever thought of the other side of the story before throwing garbage at the cheaters who spoiled the marital life? This article is not meant to break up any healthy marital relationship but just explores it! 22 TULIP APRIL 01-15, 2011

piece of life

It always looks better, the grass on the other side. Not just the grass, also the neighbor’s wife/husband, your friend’s sports car, your boss’s apartment, your colleague’s job and how ever many examples you want to hear. Most of us are never entirely satisfied with what we have. We think that all the above examples would be a better way to live our lives. So, how many agree to disagree on this? Well, it’s a much known fact that we always love the other side. Somehow the love of this has shifted its base to even relationships. And Extra Marital Affairs (EMA) is one such case. Episodes of many couples breaking up and uniting with other partners have become something common to our ears. In the previous years, where the mention of such an incident was a sin to the ears, forget about the saying tongue, but does not mean they never existed in those days. My guess is from every Raja to Rancho, they all have had extra marital affairs. If you don’t believe me, at least believe our movies that have one : many heroines. Movies truly depict the times of our ages. So, is it an acceptable thing or is it a matter of prestige or is it just for the pure fun. Looking from a very normal lay man’s point of view, why would any person what to have an extra marital relationship. Well, the answers are pretty interesting. Some of them claim that relationships are not physically made. It is a process when marinated with time gives birth to a child called ‘relationship’. So when it happens no one knows. So without your knowledge you will ‘fall in love’ with that person and after a while will realize what situation you are in. A second reason is more of a ‘blame game’. This to a certain extent could be true when one partner is too involved in other matters and does not give time and attention to their family matters. In this generation the other thing is usually one’s work/profession life. Blame it on the work or the modern lingo called ‘work pressure’, that we get so involved that for this ‘paapi pet’ we let go our precious time and that ‘loving love’. So, for

the love of love, we give away love itself. But, is it worth at all, when we realize that all that we have struggled to make both the ends meet, we have lost the ‘heart of our life’. Many of us do not realize the importance of the people who loves us. It pinches us only when we actually lose them all. More adverse being most of us do not realize that we have lost them and we only gaze as to what exactly has happened to the both of you’ll! Then when it suddenly hits you, you point figures to your partner with the most understated outrageous blame, “How could you do this to me?” and the answer should be, “Why not”. Jolted! Well obvious, you may have been burning midnight oil, travelling across the globe, meeting deadlines, but my friend you have got your priorities all wrong. Yes, we want that job, that gives us the comfort, the standard and luxury, but can it compare to the precious value of your love. So when your partner finds companionship and love in someone else’s arms, he/ she is just doing what you have done-being engaged to something else. Therefore the next time you find your partner having an EMA, build a good alibi for yourself to counter the reasons of your partner’s love life. A major chunk of EMA cases fall under the above category, however, there are a few exceptional cases, where EMA are undertaken for a ‘kick’ something similar to ‘shop lifting’. I am being told that, doing such an adventurous thing gives one a kick or a high. May be its true, some of us agree and the rest deny. But the fact is- yes, it does exist and is treated as a very normal talk as a part of our daily conversation. Well, it is not fair to blame the ‘kalyug’ for this, but you can say that it definitely is taking place in full swing! Be it the ‘baby bloomers’ of marriages to the ones who are veterans, all looking for something new and different. This somehow makes the word ‘love and relationship’ sound like a commodity. We are so used of this ‘mall culture’ that provides us with this ingredient called variety that we have started viewing our lives through these lens and now we search for ‘variety’ in our relationships. And when we are welcomed into the doors of humdrum every day, anything unusual catches our eyes. We hear a lot of EMA’s happening at one’s work place. The reason being we work half of week lives here with people at very close counters. And now when travelling with team memAPRIL 01-15, 2011 TULIP 23

piece of life bers becomes a mandatory option, a certain level of trust and comfort is built. During the course of time one never knows, how one ‘falls out and falls in love’. Such is the result of emotional involvement. (Such incidents would make amazing serial plots, so much for an ‘emotional atayachaar’-all in the name of pyaar. Sometimes relationships like this goes to the next level where they almost bear their souls to each other. Trust when translated to attraction and desire, often results in a distasteful and uncomfortable relationship. And the time and money wasted on the very thought of this act is excruciating nevertheless exciting. So, is this right? I’m not quite sure of the answer. And again, if it’s not right, then the question of personal choice arises. “Who am I to judge anyone”?

Competition has never got better and bitter in this 21st century. We see and hear versions of how projects are won. Movies and serials are the best mirrors of this truth. Business has got bigger and larger and because of this many ground rules are made and broken. Like in reel, even in real there are people who have EMA’s to win that project or that promotion. Like the movie ‘Indecent Proposal’, where a wealthy man offers a young man’s wife to spend a night for a million dollars. Not getting into the details of that movie, but such is the scenario of love and life these days. ‘Money Matters’, she talks and is being talked about everyday and every moment. Oh! It sounds that, we have sold our soul to the devil in exchange for a luxurious life. But, again that age old question – “Is it all worth and if at all it is, what is a relationships true worth’. Bah! Life, love and relationship sounds complicated. But, actually is it. Many of us are tired of our partners and hence we consciously or unconsciously look out at that greener pastures. The reality is that it can be uncomplicated. You and I are a product of evolution and we constantly change so it’s difficult to pin point saying a definite standard to a successful living. We 24 TULIP MARCH APRIL 01-15, 16-31, 2011 2011

change almost every day, hence more than living, we need to discover one another. I’m not writing here a ‘gyaan session’ on what and how to avoid an EMA, all I’m telling is, in comparison to your partner whom you have married to, the other one may not be really true. I sound old fashion, don’t I? The truth is yes, we can work relationships, and we can kick away the tempting snake and dedicate our lives to our partners who have dedicated their lives. EMA may be exciting and give us that much wanted kick and break, but at the end of the day, you will be chewed royally into the jaws of guilt and from there, there is no escape. Since the time man existed, his/her temptations have always over ruled. Yet there are great stories that have encountered and faced such events. Not sounding so melodramatic, I don’t have to give you any tips. But yes stay away from the

EMA. The market has many books and stories that talk in volumes of what love is and how to retain and creatively revive and resurrect your love. But there is no other better portion of love’ that the one you can use churned out of your love and experience. So burn that flame of love, pour in the oil of eternal and pure truthfulness and you will be surprised to notice how the lamp of your marital life will never wear out. And no matter how many ever storms of EMA blow at this relationship, your flame of love for one another will still light. True light of love will shine forever and ever. There is no one who deserves better other than you and your partner. Remember!

Behind The Glamour World C hoc-o-bloc fashion industry, stick models, high-end parties, bright costumes, glitz and glam, scandals with skirts and pe tticoats and never-ending struggling models‌ Omg! They look so glamorous. We can say a dream of every single soul in this sensational world. Though all these are like a fairytale what is the actual tale behind the dark and high-stress life of the models. SALONI GUPTA explores the grey shades of the much puffed up fashion world. APRIL 01-15, 2011 TULIP 25

Tulip Special

The world of fashion and entertainment looks very glamorous and tempting to us but many of us are totally unaware of its inside reality. The fashion show and models clad in branded clothes walking on the ramp gives a picture of glamour but it has a dark side attached with it. In past few years, several cases of suicide attempted by models because of extreme pressure and stress came into light which reflects the agony and plight of their personal life at the expense of their professional life. As they say, glamour and controversy go hand in hand. The recent case of Galliano is just one of the many chapters in the controversial book of the fashion industry. One of the many issues this industry is dealing with today is that of drug abuse. From supermodels to ace designers, the industry has witnesses many gifted artists falling prey to this fatal problem. Kate Moss and Donatella Versace are prominent names who fought their addiction. But, not all were as lucky to find a resort. British designer Alexander McQueen, gave in to his drug addiction and was reported to commit suicide. He took an overdose of drugs prior to hanging himself in his wardrobe. Success has done more harm than good to quite a few celebrities. Supermodel Naomi Campbell, who has been accused of assault charges a number of times, is one such example. The numerous anger management classes and community services are yet to show results on the temperamental lady. Not to forget, sexual abuse is another grey zone in the business of fashion. From substance abuse to racist comments, from verbal and physical attacks to sexual abuse, the fashion industry has witnessed it all. All the shimmer goes down the dumps, once the show is over and the arch lights are off. And lost is the person in the gloomy world that lies behind the glitz and glamour. We have seen many models who have attempted suicides from the fashion world fraternity, and the case is still fresh in mind is the sad story of Geetanjali Nagpal’s suicide who was found in Mumbai streets as a beggar, where her character was portrayed in the movie Fashion and which went on to win the National award. Natasha Padbidri case was also much sensationalized, where she was very depressed and not satisfied with her life, committed suicide. Also Nafisa Joseph and Kuljeet Randhwa killed themselves, Though people look like million dollar 26 TULIP MARCH APRIL 01-15, 16-31, 2011 2011

bucks outside but from inside they will be going through lot of stuff handling high status and the high profile and with constant media glitz it gets all too much in the end to handle and we are seeing incidents repeating everywhere. The suicide of model Viveka Babajee once again has posed questions before the glamour world. The model hanged herself to death in her apartment. She was suffering from acute depression as her boyfriend who was already married called off their marriage, which got a shock to everyone. Viveka is not only victim of fast changing glamour world but there are more and more endless cases of suicide attempts of successful models. Model Renu Sathi was found on the streets as a begger. Even Jessica Lal was shot dead by Manu Sharma, son of Haryana minister, because she had refused to give him a drink. This case is still left unpunished. This creates the biggest instance of the gloomy glamour world where these sons of ministers escape committing a murder or crime and the cops make the case a suicide attempt. Madhur Bhandarkar’s latest movie Fashion is based on the real life incidents of supermodels, where the dark sides of modeling world has been shown. One has to give up and sacrifice a lot of things in life to be recognized in the glamorous world of fashion. The desperate struggle that the newcomers go through, the compromises that they have to make and the drugs and the partying which can take its toll is all portrayed in the movie through a myriad of interesting and believable characters related to real life scandals. Then the other movie, No One Killed Jessica, shows how a model who is a bartender is shot dead by a desperate drunkard who wanted a drink but she refused to give him one as the bar was closed. My gosh! This is extremely shocking but unity of people got justice to her at last in the movie but in reality this case is still left scot-free by the law. A suicide is story but a celebrity sui-

Tulip Special

cide is a bigger story. Media reporting of models related deaths is voyeuristic and over the top. We cannot change the way media reacts to any celebrity suicide. In an alarming trend of past years, models have walked the top ramps around the world seem to be resorting to suicide as a gateway from their lonely planet with such stories in the fashion industry. Unfortunate incidents with skirts and tops often led to an embarrassing lingerie display of stockings, garter belts, girdles and bullet inner wear just couldn’t be kept under wraps no matter how hard a pin-up girl tried! Even though the gloomy face of the fashion world has been revealed many people on this earth fantasize it. We do not mean to accuse it but just to give the insights of the real true drama of the glamour world. We have many teenage girls and boys with a dream of becoming a super model and opting modeling as their career and get ahead in the glamour world without an idea that the competition is fearsome and tough… well at last

it also depends on the person to person how they want to carry on in this industry. Though there are deep dark secrets of the glamour world it looks very beautiful to all over the world. Fashion industry is not only about getting famous, wearing designer clothes and glittering make-up, being a top super model one day, getting a chance to be a show stopper or looking extra beautiful and skinny. It’s much more folks! It’s a tough industry which looks highly glamorous from outside but inside i8t has its all stories which have actually destroyed the lives of many innocent models. Glamour modeling covers all art which mainly concentrate on inner body parts of your body. This is more emphasis on models sexuality rather than their cloths or wearing. Glamour modeling covers the adult and nude modeling. Generally they are hired to erotic and amateur art or photos or films. Runway modeling or swimsuit and lingerie modeling or bikini modeling are the part of glamour modeling. The demand and opportunity are very high for such models but it’s never shown on real world. They are silently hired and silently released after their work by top glamour modeling agencies. Despite encompassing all glamour and money, what is the real reason behind models taking their own lives or even getting killed? Indeed the world of glamour and fashion is menacingly deceptive which camouflages the dark life of the fashion designers and models in this fiercely competitive world.

any people are attracted by the quiet and gentle fish as a roommate and companion. Fish make great pets. Watching the fish in an aquarium bring relaxation and are enjoyable for persons of every age and interest.

Fishes

er live or artificial and other decorations such as natural rock, driftwood and so on.

AS PETS Fish are pets that do not require much care, and an aquarium can add to the decor of a room. The wonderful thing about fish is the large assortment of shapes, sizes and colours. The behavior of fish also varies with different species. The reasons why fish are so popular as pets is that they are relatively inexpensive to keep, inexpensive to feed, as well as they keep the environment clean and need relatively a small space as compared to other pets. They are welcome anywhere you live, be it a rented house, flat or apartment.

SETTING UP AQUARIUM Keeping fish is fun. But there are a few basic things that you will need to know before beginning your new hobby. It is always better to get an aquarium ready before buying fish as the fish needs to have a ready environment to live as soon as we bring them home. Aquarium comes in different shapes, sizes and styles. Look it over carefully for scratches or cracks before purchasing. A tank needs a filter to keep the water clean, a heater if you are planning to keep tropical fish and then one has to decide on the decorations such as the kind of gravel, the type of plants wheth28 TULIP APRIL 01-15, 2011

DIET The right kind of food will increase the activity and longevity of your fish and help them adapt quickly to the aquarium environment. It also helps in keeping your fish healthy and bringing out their best colors. There are a variety of foods available for your saltwater and freshwater fish. Live food consists of plants, animals and microorganisms that do not cause harm to the fish. Live foods are always better than dried processed foods as they contain better quality of protein than dried foods. Processed foods include fresh, frozen, freeze-dried, and canned foods. Fresh foods can be small bits of meats, vegetables and fruits like beef, chicken, pea, beans, peeled apple etc. Canned foods provide a balanced diet and come in a variety of forms such as flakes, pellets, granules etc. Among canned foods flaked food is the most common food used and is best for small fish

Care Number of fishes must be minimum such that each fish can get enough space in aquarium Change the water frequently. Atleast twice a week Don´t forget to turn of your heaters before a water change, (or turning them back of afterwards)

Glamour and Sports seem to go together Hand in Glove!!!

By Saloni Gupta

When the word g‘ ambling’ pops up many of us think of the dazzling world of Las Vegas big casinos and bars where money just flows in. It’s a surprising trend which defies the fact, that, now days, sports people are like celebrities with fans, followers and live performances on television. Commercialization has made sports another glamour industry and the media is playing strong in proving the statement. There is always an evidence of emotion present in it. TULIP explores the sports world twisted into a glamour quotient! 34 TULIP APRIL 01-15, 2011

A bigger and more sensational scandal has engulfed the multibillion-dollar Indian Premier League (IPL), a cricket competition initiated by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and modeled after the English Premier League. With a fanatic following in India, IPL is one of the highest-paid leagues in the world. With many of the teams owned and promoted by some of India’s biggest movie stars, the league’s intermingling of glamour and sports have made it a moneymaking machine. Especially the auctions of cricketers playing in the IPL this time was the biggest highlight which made the media play a strong role in mixing the cricket with glamour. The coming together of glamour, business interest, cheer girls, cricket and Bollywood spearheaded by IPL has gone down well with women as it has succeeded in generating interest in the game, drawing huge women fan following even from those women who are least bothered about the game. . The live performances of the sports stars with the Bollywood stars at the award events are creating a lot of glamour in the media. And who knows? After a few trophies, even Bollywood stars and businessmen may be tempted to settle towards these cricketers, giving a boost to this sport and allowing scandalridden cricket to cool its heals and get its game together Now the ICC World Cup is the season’s latest sport going on and adding more glitz and glamour to the cricket world. Cricketers are enjoying not only the game but

also the colors, fashion shows, albums with live dances and also some various kinds of arts and scandals happening around in media is an add on to the statement ensuring glamour and sports walking together With just the right ingredients to brew a perfect media storm, movie stars, business magnets, mistresses, corrupt politicians and big money, the story will likely be breathlessly followed by the Indian media Gambling is again the limelight in Bollywood town. Though our country doesn’t have many casinos, betting is much known in India. A round table in kitty parties or just a handkerchief of by the side of a road, the ground for gambling is ready! So, how has the Bollywood dealt with this subject? Though most of us think that making movie is nothing less than a big gamble, as a lot is on stake, there are many movies that have shown the good, bad and ugly world of gambling. With biggies Big B, Amitab Bachan comes up with Teenpatti which is a rip of betting world and poker addiction. No betting related movie was as hit as Jannat. An Emran Hashmi starter this film showed the bad world of betting involved with cricket matches in India. Luck was another flick where gambling is not just about money but what’s on stake is life. and become the star for the event. Same is the case with much hyped game in India- Cricket, which is almost like a religion while the other sports are not given any importance and no encouragement at all. Media also highlights issues for public good like the models cases, murders, throwing acid and other scandals but certain television channels have crime shows that have anchors themselves looking like criminals. This is all just for glamour, nobody is known to the bad world inside with all such gambling issues and money playing the most major role. These are just spreading more negative messages to the people rather than positive ones.

Addictions are quite well heard these days and an addiction to gambling is one of them. People can easily become addicted to gambling. It is usually split into four different areas like the high of thinking you can control chance, the excitement of maybe winning the jackpot, addicted to winning and becoming addicted to the idea that your luck will change. Any gambling game be it cricket or poker is a game of risk taking that gives people a high pay off. Risk adds zest to life but takes you away from your everyday life and then nothing can stop you from playing just one more game.

Sports are muddled in the hands of politicians, the glamorous, the rich and powerful as it involves big money. With many Bollywood queens past their prime, finding no meaty roles in films, they find IPL as a platform to be in the limelight and also to make money. Whatever may be the outcome of the sordid saga that began with Shashi Tharoor episode it has to be acknowledged that cricket has generated the interest of glam women either as a pursuit of money making mode or as a platform of being in the limelight. Indians are crazy about cricket

Because you are lucky at sports betting doesn’t mean you are always lucky at life. If you win one game you might not win the next game again. Luck changes ahead it doesn’t favors the one winning always. The biggest problem with addiction is that it is a downward spiral. The game becomes a place where you can’t get away from stress and anxiety and you tend to get more depressed so you play more and more to escape these feelings. Poker addicts always wish to win in their games. They do not realize that they are making significant dent on their life savings. Once the compulsion to play the game sets in, there is no turning back. Poker games are available in many forms in the gaming hub, casinos and other areas. This addiction to gambling and poker changes one’s lifestyle completely affecting all people around. Though it might look stylish but it’s a very bad addiction of playing this game. Headlines in India have been dominated by one sports scandal after another. There were the much-publicized trials and troubles of Indian Tennis star Sania Mirza as she fought community, country and a very determined first wife, to marry Pakistani cricketer, Shoaib Malik. Sports betting are getting more and more popular these days and more people including the celebrities are engaged in it. IPL betting allegations against Lalit Modi and Bollywood stars involved in it was also a big tamasha in the sports world. Why do we care if an actor renewed his license? That’s shown in the headlines of a prime time news bulletin. Why do media have to hype the issue if Shahrukh Khan is detained at the U.S airport? It is the new trend of the film stars to be treated like God all over the world and attend a common man’s wedding 36 TULIP APRIL 01-15, 2011

and Bollywood is well known. Together they offer a deadly combo this cricket crazy nation can hardly resist as is evident from the popularity and success of IPL. And now there is glamour that comes with it to make it a deadly combo offer of cricket, Bollywood and glamour, which is simply irresistible. All these have become a blend with the glamour world. Sports have totally gone away with the fashion industry where everything is super artificial and there is always the much hyped news presented. We cannot get a piece of the right news there is always a mixture of mirchi-masala in it which makes the issue very glamorous and is highlighted all over the world. Thus all these evidences very clearly describe the fact that yes! Glamour and sports are going hand in hand all together!!!

“Beautiful Time To Make You Mine” By Saloni Gupta

Love blossoms during the period of courtship in a relationship. The moments that the couple spends together are woven into timeless memories and are remembered lovingly for an entire lifetime. It is a time when the bride and the groom understand each other. Love is in the air and promises are made to be kept and spend time together with the social sanction. This helps in eliminating any kind of stress. It is truly a memorable time. So get on people go ahead earn those fairy points and have your say with the ‘’DO’S and DON’TS’’ for HIM and HER that the couple should follow to ensure a time full of happiness, love and laughter!!! “The key to building a wholesome relationship is to remain open to ideas to your partner and let love play its charm to help make it a happy and blissful marriage. Be a gentleman and turn on that chivalrous man in you. Leave special notes for your partner and make them feel special and loved. While making any decisions related to marriage or otherwise try to include your partner in your discussions. The most important thing is to avoid talking about the past relationship. Never insult your partner in public and in case you are unable to devote time together due to work explain very politely. Lastly, always be honest and give respect to each other”.

“Both the partners’ should be themselves and not pretend much because pretendance doesn’t stay for long. They should try to mend one’s personality with their partner for the better results in a happier and long term relationships. Never try to over impress your partner and give space in terms of time and thoughts. Possessiveness is good at some point but too much gets too bad!”

Vaibhav Agarwal, Self Employed

Abhiram Agarwal, Entrepreneur

“The most important thing even before putting down the dos & don’ts is to sustain the relationship. Being engaged doesn’t change much between the two if they both were in a relationship before. Try to be the same person as you were before. Surprise your fiancé or fiancée with a gift or two every now & then to show you still have the same feelings. Make the most of the time spent together. Give them a little more importance to them than the rest. Show them more responsibility in your approach towards your relationship & life Tell them how much you love them occasionally, if not regularly. Get married as soon as you can as marriage is a better way to hold on to one another. Don’t try to mingle with others after getting engaged. Don’t act like they are here to stay, not caring about them & you have a life to live. Being a friend to them is wonderful but don’t treat them as one among your other friends. Don’t allow suspicion to grow as a result one starts to ‘keep a check’ on the other. A human being would not like to be compared to another when one says they could have done better if they had done this or that. Being engage (or even being married) doesn’t mean that one gets to boss them all the time. Lastly, don’t postpone your marriage as things can go wayward with every postponement”. viewpoint “First and foremost be truthful to the person u getting married to. Set your priorities right. Give each other space even in your courtship. Respect each other’s feelings, ‘families and ideologies. Sneak out as much as possible to know each other better and spend quality time. Pamper your partner and make every outing a special one. Always surprise your partner. Dont make false promises to which you can’t keep up to in near future. Don’t dig into each other’s family issues and lastly, .don’t over indulge in physical activities too much leave some for the d-day”. Nikitha Reddy, Socialite

“Courtship period for a couple is the time where they decide to take a step further and it’s the time when they leave an impression about each other. A couple needs to spend real good time to know each other or notice their actions. This will help them know their interests, likes and dislikes and many more related qualities. Both the partners shouldn’t be suspicious about each other as this will only create disturbance and negative nature towards the loved ones. They need to accept each other as they are to make a relationship stronger”.

“I wouldn’t like to differentiate between the sexes. My advice is the same for anyone in a married relationship - be it the man or the woman. Just because you’re married doesn’t mean you should stop being romantic. If you’re wise you will woo your partner for the rest of your married life! Communication is the key, call your partner at least once a day just to tell her how much you love him/her. And most importantly, your partner’s family is just as important to them as yours is to you. If you really love your partner then you will make time and spend it with them. And lastly, don’t spend ALL your time together. You’re both going to need some quality alone time of you want your relationship to work. A corollary to this is, don’t be clingy. And don’t grudge your partner any alone time that they might need”. Lisa Mahapatra, Sub-Editor/Reporter, The New Indian Express

Zoheb Khan IllusionX, CEO

“If it’s a love marriage, then it is an exception but if it’s an arrange marriage, then what you need to do is to know each other well which is a very important factor. Both the partners need to dedicate time towards each other. Do not forget to give gifts and flowers as it acts as an expression of love. Never make your partner wait for a longtime. Don’t forget to take time and meet your partner for a movie or a candle light dinner. And lastly, don’t get too much hanky-panky… lol”. Vishal Khurana, Neha’s

“Courtship time is the most precious time spent together. There are many good and bright days coming in but the partners need to remember some very important do’s and don’ts to make the love blossom always. Never try to be pretentious and always be yourself. Don’t act distracted and keep your eyes from wandering when you are out together. Both the partners should maintain eye contact to make love feel through. The guys should on their chivalrous part and never let a day go without showing your partner how much he or she means to you. Learn to break your ego and say sorry when wrong”. Gavin Joseph, S.V. Caters and Events, CEO

Choose an event that would complement a mocktail party. Maybe a going away lunch for a co-worker or a friend of yours is pregnant and you want to throw her a baby shower. These would be good opportunities for a mocktail party. A mocktail party is a good choice when you want to add a special pizazz to a party but you don’t want to include alcohol.

4

Finally, plan a party game. Make sure the game is simple because it is meant only to be an ice breaker. For a baby shower you could collect baby safety pins in a large glass container and offer a prize to whoever guesses the right number. You could have trivia cards around the room and encourage guests to ask each other questions from the list. Tailor the trivia to the type of party you are having. By planning a party game to serve as an ice breaker you get your guests involved in something fun.

2

Choose an array of specialty drink recipes. There are some great fun and fruity flavored recipes for cocktails but you just want to leave out the alcohol. Select at least three different recipes. For example, try a a virgin frozen daquiri, a virgin margarita and soda water with fresh lemon or lime. By choosing at least three different recipes chances are you will have something that will appeal to each of your guests.

5

Play good music. If you key up a creative play list before the party starts you will help set a relaxing but fun atmosphere for the party. Your guests will mingle and indulge in good conversation in no time. You will be on your way to throwing a perfect mocktail party.

Serve each of the drinks in festive colored glassware with some type of decorative item such as a toothpick paper umbrella or a mermaid. Choose something that will coordinate with the rest of the party. Serve the drinks on a party tray to add to the festive mood. Use coordinating napkins. Serve the mocktails to your guests and also leave a “bar” available for them to help themselves.

6

Keep your mocktails fresh and well stocked. A blended drink will need to be kept chilled. A soda water with fresh lime will need available ice. Offer to re-fill your guests’ drinks for them and keep the party going in a positive up-beat direction.

7

Garnish your glasses for a festive finishing touch skewered with pineapples or cherries, colorful straws, or even just slices of lemon, orange or kiwi will finish your mocktails in style.

Enjoy summer with these exotic summer mocktails. Chill out and have fun!!!

Ugadi is the New Year’s Day for the people of Andhra Pradesh and also for the Telugu people all over the world. It is a festival of many shades and ushers in the New year. Ugadi brings a rich bounce of flora and fills the hearts of people with joy and happiness!!! A UNIQUE RITUAL There is a peculiarity about the practices of the various sects of Brahmins; one who is not conversant with them finds it difficult to understand their meaning. Even though they are all Brahmins certain differences in their lineage may be traced among them. These become manifest in their distinctive calendars where the dates and months vary. Some have calculations according to the solar system, and others according to the lunar system; with the result that despite all being Brahmins the New Year differs among different sects. Thus there is a Telugu New Year’s Day, a Tamil New Year’s Day, and a New Year’s distinct from these in the almanac of North India. According to Chandramana, Ugadi is celebrated on the bright fortnight (‘Shukla Paksha’) of the first month (‘Chaitra Masa’) in the first season of the year i.e. Spring (‘Vasanta-Ritu’). As all these important elements are present, this day has special significance marking the commencement of a New Year.

SIGNIFANCE It is believed that the creator of the Hindu pantheon Lord Brahma started creation on this day - “Chaitra Suddha Padhyami” or the Ugadi day. Also the calculations of the great Indian Mathematician Bhaskaracharya proclaim the Ugadi day as the beginning of the New Year, New month and New day. The onset of spring also marks a beginning of new life with plants acquiring new life, shoots and leaves. The vibrancy of life and verdant fields, meadows full of colorful blossoms signify growth, prosperity and well-being.With the coming of Ugadi, the naturally perfumed Jasmine’s spread a sweet fragrance, which is perhaps unmatched by any other in nature’s own creation. While large garlands of Jasmine are offered to Gods in homes and temples, Jasmine flowers woven in clusters adorn the braids of women.

PREPARING FOR THE OCCASION Preparations for the festival begin a week ahead. Houses are given a thorough wash. Shopping for new clothes and buying other items that go with the requirements of the festival are done with a lot of excitement. Ugadi is celebrated with festive fervor in the states of Maharashtra, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. While it is called Ugadi in Andhara and Karnataka, in Maharashtra it is known as “Gudipadava”. On Ugadi day, people wake up before the break of dawn and take a head bath after, which they decorate, the entrance of their houses with fresh mango leaves. The green mango leaves tied to the doorway signify a good crop and general well being. It is noteworthy that one uses mango leaves and coconuts (as in a ‘Kalasam’, to initiate any puja) only on auspicious occasions to propitiate gods. People also splash fresh cow dung water on the ground in front of their house and draw colorful floral designs. This is a common sight in every household. People perform the ritualistic worship to God invoking his blessings before they start off with the New Year. They pray for their health, wealth and prosperity and success in business too. Ugadi is also the most auspicious time to start new ventures.

KAVI SAMMELANAM Kavi Sammelanam or poetry recitation is a typical Telugu Ugadi feature. Ugadi is also a time when people look forward to a literary feast in the form of Kavi Sammelanam. Many poets come up with new poems written on subjects ranging from Ugadi to politics to modern trends and lifestyles. Ugadi Kavi Sammelanam is also a launch pad for new and budding poets. It is generally carried live on All India Radio, Hyderabad and the Doordarshan - Hyderabad, following “Panchangasravanam” (New year calendar) narrating the way the New Year would shape up in the lives of people and the state in general. ‘Kavis’ or poets of many hues - political, comic, satirical reformist, literary and melancholic make an appearance on the Ugadi stage.

SPECIAL DELECACIES It is a season for raw mangoes spreading its aroma in the air and the fully blossomed Neem tree that makes the air healthy. Also, jaggery made with fresh crop of sugarcane adds a renewed flavour to the typical dishes associated with Ugadi. Ugadi Pachchadi” is one such dish that has become synonymous with Ugadi. It is made of new jaggery, raw mango pieces, Neem flowers and new tamarind. The inner significance of this preparation is to indicate that life is a mixture of good and bad, joy and sorrow and all of them have to be treated alike. All experiences have to be treated with equanimity. Every one should make a resolve that he will face calmly whatever happens in this year, accepting it with good grace and welcoming everything. Consider everything as for one’s own good. Men should rise above sorrow and happiness, success and failure. This is the primary message of the Ugadi festival. In Andhra Pradesh, eatables such as “Pulihora”, “Bobbatlu” and preparations made with raw mango go well with the occasion. In Karnataka too, similar preparations are made but called “Puliogure” and “Holige”. The Maharashtrians make “Puran Poli” or sweet ‘Rotis’. Ugadi is an auspicious day for all the people and is celebrated very traditionally. TULIP wishes all of you a very Happy Ugadi! APRIL 01-15, 2011 TULIP 49

UCATI.. the name itself gets a chill in the spine of many boys, yes it truly does, this one’s a favorite from a really long time, since the top gun days of Tom Cruise to our sallu bhai driving one of these in his early movies when he made his awesome physique. We saw lot of hot bods driving a red DUCATI always. And for boys like Tom Cruise its always been Ducati, we last saw him in the movie knight and day driving the tademark bike. This motorcycle is produced by Italian Manufacturer, Ducati. It’s featured L-twin Cylinder Engine, 4 valves per cylinder Desmodromic and liquid cooled. This motorcycle can readh the top speed of 169 mph (271 km/h). The power of this Ducati 1098s is 119.3 kW (160.0 bhp) @ 9750 rpm with 6 speed chain transmission.

TT Turbine Superbike, also known as Y2K Turbine Superbike, is the world’s second wheel driven motorcycle powered by a turbine engine, created by Ted McIntyre of Marine Turbine Technologies Inc and it appears just below Suzuki Hayabusa. Powered by a Rolls Royce Allison 250 series turboshaft engine, producing 238kW (320hp), this motorcycle has a recorded top speed of 227 mph (365 km/h), with a price tag of US$150,000. It is recognized by Guinness World Records as the “Most powerful production motorcycle” and the “Most expensive production motorcycle”. Unlike other contemporary motorcycles (such as the Hayabusa), 2001 and later models of MTT Turbine SUPERBIKE do not have the 300 km/h speed limit self-imposed by Japanese manufacturers. MTT has achieved the 3rd rank among the top 10 fastest bikes. I am sure this one’s a new name for all the bike enthusiasts there but this one is one of the best on the block, this can even race with lot of MIG planes of air force. This is one of the worlds best superbike.

he bike contains true Yamaha Racing DNA. The bike, Super Sports Yamaha R15 is expected to set all new standards in design and performance in bike Industry of India.Machine, ie. the bike has technology percolated from R1. This bike YZF – R15 has many firsts to its credit on Indian road including first liquid cooled engine, 4 valve fuel injected engine etc. The YZF R15 is powered by 149.8cc Fuel Injected liquid cooled engine producing 17bhp with maximum torque of 15 Nm at 7500rpm; which makes it like the most powerful bike under 200cc range. Yamaha YZF R-15 boasts 6 speed gearbox with optimized gear shift ratio so expect a smoother ride. Ok this was about the bike specification but let me tell you this one will surely attract lot of eye balls when you are on the roads, with so many new sports colors its one of the best Indian sports bikes which we have.

Karizma Z mr

T

he new Hero Honda Karizma ZMR looks pretty mature and stylish but not as much as the above two bikes. Its full fairing bike will make you turn around once again and new Karizma ZMR is refreshing in its looks. In short, from front it looks cool and can stand up with even some very costly bike, but again to say not as much as the other two bikes i mentioned above. This bike is one of the best but not the very best and huge at pocket too. It’s not the price worth as much as it quotes and the old KARIZMA is much much better than than the new one.

Pulsar 220cc

B

ajaj calls this bike ‘The Fastest India’ and the bike’s traits lead us to believe every bit of it. Zero to sixty dash comes in lesser than 4 seconds! It is a huge more than half a second faster than its fuel injected sibling. Zero to hundred is achieved in around 11.5 seconds and this is a whooping two seconds faster to the DTS-Fi. Add to this the true top speed of the bike is reported at close to 140 kmph with the Speedo reading in excess of 145kmph. Now that’s fast by any standards and furious in Indian standards. Well i know reviewing this is a little old. But what can i say this one’s the most favourite Indian bike ever. Shows like PULSAR STUNT MANIA and etc have made this a street bike for doing all the stunts. One word? Stunt riders, keep the stunts on!

Fun and Frolic Holi Bash

Anjali

It’s time for Holi people, kick up your heels and let your hair down! Following the tradition, Raunaq Yar Khan had thrown a Holi party at Bhoot Bhangla. It was a fun pool party where all the people were seen having a gala time and danced around. The crowd was basically his pals and many youngsters who were enjoying throwing water balloons at each other and coloring up their friends not leaving anybody plain at all! The main idea was just to chill out and relax at the pool made which is the best thing and is made with so many extensive unique features. This Holi party seemed to have a fresh start of the spring celebrations.

Kasanthi and Krishala club celebrated a pool party Holi bash. The theme was a grape crushing party and the best part was the ladies played Holi by singing and showering milk with rose petals on each other instead of colors. They had all fun games which were very different like wearing the frozen t-shirt, breaking the handi and many more games. All the ladies looked gorgeous in their attires and were seen having a ball time this Holi. There was a plentiful spread of food were the ladies had given a miss to their diets and enjoyed the mouth-watering snacks.
