True Pump & Equipment, Inc. Greetings! The calendar now says it's fall and some of the night time temperatures seem to agree. After a warmer than usual summer it's a welcome change, we're also hoping for a nice wet winter! This month's newsletter includes much of the information we received at this year's Pondemonium. This event again was a great time of learning, networking and planning with plenty of fun thrown in too! Also, Little Giant has announced a price increase effective October 8. At Pondemonium we had a sneak peak into some of the items that will be available in 2013. There will be additional sizes in the adjustable flowra flowrate te pumps, improvements to the LED lights, some new water treatments and accessories and a few "Top Secret" items we're not allowed to talk about yet! Aquascape also unveiled their new catalogs which include a glossy catalog to hand out to customers and a reference catalog for you with "net" pricing and lots of parts breakdowns! Aquascape Award At this year's Pondemonium event True Pump was recognized by Aquascape with a Team Award. This award was presented to True Pump for leading the co-operative effort between True Pump, Aquascape and the Denver Botanic Gardens to add an ecosystem pond to the new Japanese garden at DBG. Thank you Aquascape, Denver Botanic Gardens and all the contractors who helped complete this beautiful water feature!
Tech Question Should my customers leave their IonGens™ on in the winter? You should shut down the IonGen™ System in regions that have climates that experience cold temperatures. In cold climates the water feature becomes dormant in the winter and there will be very little algae to absorb the copper, which could create elevated copper levels if the IonGen™ continues to operate. When starting the IonGen™ back up in spring make sure to wait for the visual cues, such as algae attached to the rocks and gravel, to begin to appear again before turning the IonGen™ back on for the season.
