Award for Jacqui Maltby-based Police Community Support Officer Jacqui Millward has been named as PSCO of the year for the Rotherham district at a recent South Yorkshire Police awards night. Local girl Julie Maddison has opened a much needed shoe shop in Maltby’s Queens Corner conveniently above the Revive hair and beauty salon. “We are a family-run business filling what we feel is a gap in the market in the town,” said Julie. In keeping with the national trend of trying to persuade shoppers to stay local and support their local High Street, Shoe-Be-Doo offers affordable fashion shoes and hand bags, as well as a range of wedding, prom and occasion items. The ranges on offer span everything from everyday needs to that big event. Julie also plans to offer children’s shoes in the near future, again saving parents that time-consuming trip out of town.

It is always nice to make a difference.” Maltby Town councillor Keith Stringer said “Like all the other members, Jacqui has always been friendly and approachable. It is always good for the people in the area to know that Jacqui and her team are there whenever we need help or advice.” KH
