ALL THE DIFFERENCE Professors who are accomplished scholars and expert teachers. Programs designed to meet your needs and exceed your expectations. Updated, accessible resources

ACADEMICS

DEGREE PROGRAMS We’re here to serve you. If you’re planning to pursue a four-year degree, our programs are fully accredited and widely respected in Louisiana. Our courses are easily transferable. We have transfer agreements for general education classes with all public universities in the state. There are transfer programs in 100 different areas. If you’d prefer more careerspecific study that will prepare you for the job market, we offer a variety of two-year associate degree programs

that correspond to the region’s and the country’s most in-demand vocational opportunities, including management, nursing, respiratory care, and the care and development of young children. If you’re looking for short-term job-specific training programs, we offer technical diplomas, certificates, and areas of competency. If you decide to return to school to work toward an Associate Degree or a Bachelor’s Degree, your credits can be applied towards either degree. 2+2 PROGRAMS Our 2+2 programs with 4-year universities in the state allow you

to earn your bachelor’s degree quickly, and in some cases without leaving Eunice. If you enroll in a 2+2 program, you take your first two years of coursework in classes taught by our faculty; your last two years of coursework are taken in classes taught either on our campus, the 4-year school’s campus or online. We have agreements with McNeese, LSU Alexandria, UL Lafayette and Northwestern State. RESEARCH We’re eager to give you the chance to conduct research. Our faculty looks for ways to provide hands-on

experience that allows students to explore the questions at the heart of their field. Our Undergraduate Summer Research Institute supports students and faculty engaged in high-level, collaborative research projects. URSI students regularly publish their work in respected academic journals and present it at regional and national conferences. HONORS PROGRAM Our Honors Program is designed for high-achieving students who are ready to be challenged. Honors students enroll in intensive interdisciplinary seminars, as well as honors courses. Benefits include close advising from the program’s director, small classes with other high-ability students, and a robust scholarship program. BRIDGE PROGRAM LSU Eunice and UL Lafayette have teamed up to offer a Bridge Program. Complete two years at LSU Eunice following the bridge plan, and have access to UL just like a Lafayette student. PATHWAYS TO SUCCESS A one-year program for students who score a composite score of 15 or below on the ACT, or who do not have an ACT score. Students

enroll in a suite of required courses and elective courses that provide a strong foundation for college-level work. They also take advantage of focused tutoring and advising from the program’s professional staff. In 2008, Pathways won an Institutional Advising Award from the National Academic Advising Association and recently was identified as one of the best developmental education programs in the nation by the National Association of Developmental Educators. MODULAR MATH A new quality enhancement program that is taking the campus by storm. Students enroll in the modular math class and move at their own pace on video and computer-based modules with instructors providing assistance rather than lecturing in the classroom. The program allows students the opportunity to complete two semesters of developmental math in one semester at a reduced tuition rate for the second class. The program is growing in popularity, and the university plans to expand the program beyond remedial math classes.

Faculty What stands at the heart of our academic experience? Our esteemed faculty. Nearly 70% of them hold the highest degree in their field. They’re mentors to students at every stage of their academic development. They’re models of advanced scholarship and research. Most of all, they’re a source of lasting inspiration. They’re living proof that a university education can enhance your life beyond measure.

Life on Campus It starts with our students. They lead a growing list of clubs and organizations, many of which are dedicated to academic fields and most of which sponsor service projects on campus and in the community. University sponsored programs, including guest speakers at the LeDoux Library and LSUE Performing Arts, bring local and national artists and scholars to campus for lectures and presentations.

Residential Life We’re the only two-year school in the state with on-campus housing. Our residential community, Bengal Village, features furnished townhouse-style apartments with a full kitchen, a living area, and private bedrooms. It also includes individual and group study areas, a swimming pool, an outdoor barbecue pavilion, a sports court, and laundry facilities. Trained resident assistants coordinate a range of social, intellectual, and recreational programs.

Athletics Our three varsity teams — men’s baseball, women’s basketball, and women’s softball — are well known in the National Junior College Athletic Association. Bengal Baseball has played in the NJCAA World Series seven times, and won the 2006, 2008, 2010, 2012 and 2016 National Championship. Lady Bengal Basketball has won two state championships, the MissLou Conference championship and appeared in the national tournament in 2003 and 2007. Bengal Softball has made numerous regional tournament appearances and has won the NJCAA National Championship in 2011, 2013 and 2014. Our popular intramural sports program includes flag football, basketball, softball, and volleyball. In our Health and Physical Education Building, students take advantage of a multipurpose gymnasium court, a heated swimming pool, and a weight training and conditioning room.
