facility that will offer a warm and friendly atmosphere, have the latest technology, offer new and expanded services and set a benchmark for health care services in a community hospital. With your help and support, we can build and equip a remarkable hospital that will respond to emergencies, mend broken bones, administer cancer care and promote all aspects of health in our local community. I have made a commitment to donate a portion of my commissions towards this incredible cause. For more information visit www.oakvillehospitalfoundation.com. I was proud to be the venue sponsor for Comic Vision at Le Dome on North Service Road East on April 28. Comic Vision is an evening of comedy to fight blindness. The annual cross-country tour of high profile, stand-up artists is Canada’s most successful night of comedy and fundraising in support of the Foundation Fighting Blindness. While there is nothing funny about blindness, FFB hopes laughter will help fund a cure. For more information visit www.comicvision.ca. I was excited to be the event sponsor for the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Halton first annual golf tournament at Glen Abbey on June 24 – the Dan Cooper Celebrity Invitational Golf Tournament. a great day for a great cause and we raised a lot of money for the many youth who need our help here at home. Learn more about Big Brothers Big Sisters of Halton at www.bbbshalton.ca. Other organizations I support include Appleby College and the Oakville Centre for the Performing Arts. Education, culture and the arts are also critical for the well-being of a community. I’m proud that my Dan Cooper Concert Series brings internationally acclaimed performers to our small corner of the globe. To find out who is performing at the Oakville Centre in the coming months visit www.oc4pa.ca.

I encourage all of you to give back to the community in any way you can; whether it is with money or time or both. Your efforts and contributions help make our community stronger and a better place in which to live.
