The interoperability laboratory supported by the FOREM is designed to train IT logistics coordinators in a range of emerging areas including logistics engineers, IS project managers, logistics analysts and process performance managers. “The main strategic priorities for the project”, we are told at the FOREM, “are developing training solutions, nurturing skills among jobseekers or those working on industrial projects related to transport and logistics, and optimising logistics processes”.
The ‘Case Study’ project is developing training geared towards multimodal solutions, modal choices, packaging and designing a distribution network. This training, which leads to a qualification, is provided remotely, and the duration varies depending on the level of difficulty. The purpose is to familiarise learners with the different stages of the logistics chain, and get to grips with different modes of transport. Included in training solutions for jobseekers, the case study option is also available for businesses.
The programme puts learners into distribution and transport situations thanks to an educational depot equipped with innovative RFID technology and cutting-edge software such as ERP, WMS and TMS.
