BRIEFLY DeAndre Miller is in his second season with LMU after transferring for the spring 2006 semester from Fresno State... is the top returner in on-base percentage (.416)... expected to be the starting center fielder... coaches hope he will be the leadoff hitter and an offensive catalyst... coming off a championship summer with the Santa Barbara Foresters... has adjusted his swing, which coaches feel will be more conducive to his speed and gap power... named co-defensive MVP of LMU's Crimson and Navy Fall Series... At LMU 2006... played in 51 games, making 39 starts... led team in walks (30) and hit by pitches (13)... went 13-for-16 in stolen bases including three stolen bases against UC Riverside on February 21st... went 3-for-6 at SJSU on Feb. 25... AT FRESNO STATE 2005... made 45 starts, hitting .245 with a .423 on-base percentage... was second on the team with 48 runs scored... led the Bulldogs with 42 walks... also went 7-for-9 in stolen bases... 2004... started 41 games, 37 in left field, three at second base, and one at designated hitter... tied for second on the team with 23 walks... had four triples, placing him among the WAC's top-3... hit .290 with 17 RBI and two home runs... posted a .411 on-base percentage... LaMonda is in his senior season with the Lions... expected to finish his career as a fouryear starter at first base... coaches are looking for him to provide leadership and experience to the Lions’ infield, which should be one of the stronger parts of the 2007 squad... AT LMU 2006... played in 50 games for the Lions, starting 45 ... hit .296 in WCC play and .273 on the season... added 25 RBI... was Baseball America's preseason pick for the WCC's best defensive first baseman... went on to post a .989 fielding percentage... hit safely in seven straight games in April... 2005... hit .253 and made just three errors in 53 games played at first base for the Lions... made 42 starts and drove in 28 runs... hit a grand slam in the first inning of deciding game three in the WCC Championship Series... 2004... had 29 hits, four doubles, and 24 RBI... made just one error in 153 chances (.994)...
