Health Technologies HTEC-102 Integrated Basic Science - 5 Cr. - An introduction to basic sciences and pathology. Concepts of physics, chemistry and life sciences emphasizing application to human structure and function. An integrated approach to the study of the human body in health and as altered by various disease states. Lecture 4 hours. Laboratory 3 hours. Prerequisite: None. HTEC-161 Introduction to Pharmacology - 3 Cr. - To acquaint students with the general principles and concepts of pharmacology. A survey of the subject matter will provide an understanding of the indications, uses, doses and contraindications associated with individual drugs as well as the mechanisms of drug administration and therapeutic management of patients with specific disease processes. A review of basic mathematics as related to the correct calculation of drug dosages and preparation of solutions is included . Lecture 3 hours. Laboratory 0 hours.
