FEAR OF COMMITMENT: GLASS FUSING ( 1 DAY ) In this crash course in glass fusing, you’ll learn the basics of cutting and assembling glass for the kiln. Make a small plate, tile, or pieces for jewelry. Materials fee includes all glass, tools, and kiln firing. Finished pieces may be picked up two weeks after class ends. No experience necessary.

Create a thick fused glass block in this 3-hour workshop. Several construction options will be presented along with an introduction to working with embellishments, paints, decals and more. Students will learn to dam their glass to prevent it from spreading when molten. This technique lends itself well to collage artists or those who like to layer color and texture. Each student will create one 5” x 5” x 1/2” block.

No prior experience necessary.

( 1 DAY ) This is a crash course in glass bead making. We’ll cover basic techniques and surface designs including dots and stripes. In this two-day class, students will learn how to create glass cabochons for jewelry. The first day will cover instruction on creating off mandrel cabochons and sculptural forms at the torch. Your creations will then be properly annealed in the kiln. On Saturday, you will use your creations to make unique rings, earrings and/or pendants. No glass or metals experience required.

Looking for something fun and different to do with your sweetheart? Maybe you’re curious how to make a heart shaped bead in glass. This one-night workshop is perfect for you! Create a stunning, organic bowl that looks complex with its delicate beauty but is really quite effortless to achieve. Students will learn to cut strips of glass and arrange the pieces so when fired look like wispy branches of coral. Each student will create one 8” round bowl. ON EDGE STRIP PLATE ( 1 DAY ) Explore the advanced fusing technique of firing strips of sheet glass on edge. You will learn to construct projects using this method and explore its many design possibilities. Each student will make one 8” x 8” x 3/8” plate and perfect their glass cutting skills along the way.
