The beautiful new facility reflects that attitude, offering free coffee from Starbucks with the beans ground on-site. The interior fits its location here in Texas and the Dallas area with the Mayor’s office showing great support from the Dallas Cowboys, as Ray’s father played for them in the early 1960’s. The Prosper branch is a full-service branch that claims to “be as unique as our customers while specializing in flexibility.” A large portion of the Prosper’s branch is in commercial construction lending, which is no surprise given the growing nature of Prosper and the other close and growing communities. To learn more about why you should consider banking with this local, family owned bank, visit www.myfarmers.bank, or simply drop in and enjoy a coffee.

GIVING BACK

BEHIND THE E L E GA N T R E D DOOR

AS YOU EXPLORE THE STREETS OF HISTORIC DOWNTOWN MCKINNEY AND ALL IT HAS TO OFFER, YOU WILL COME ACROSS AN ELEGANT RED DOOR AT 203A E VIRGINIA STREET. This is the second shop for William Williams to open, with his first being very successful in Celina. William Williams Rare Jewels offers special Custom Designed Jewelry. Bill has been a jeweler since 1985 and learned from and was inspired by one of the finest artists in the Western Hemisphere, Robert Whiteside. Under Whiteside, he crafted fine jewelry and Carl Fabergé jeweled eggs using transparent glass fired enamel over Guillochés (engravings produced by engine turnings). He was commissioned by The White House under the Reagan administration to produce gifts for Heads of State. Such artistry and fine craftsmanship typically had been found only in European countries. Bill’s passion for his work is what has driven him. Now, he crafts diamonds and rare gems into custom pieces for both men and women. They range from engagement rings to heirloom pieces that should be passed down from generation to generation. “Jewelry is

the client’s direct contact with the artist making the piece. It’s always nice to interact with the client and get a feel for what they envision”. However, Bill also does everything from Insurance Appraisals to changing watch batteries jewelry repair watch repair. Does this leave him much time outside his work? Not much, but what time he does get, he loves spending with his wife, Christy, and three sons, Cole, Hunter, and Noah. The family is extended with two five-year old Dachshund siblings, Sadie & Molly. So, find the red door and drop in to meet William Williams, Purveyor of Fine Jewels. You can also visit his website to learn more about his work at www.williamwilliamsrarejewels.com.

That seems to complement Edward’s description as three brothers who gained varied traits from their parents but who are all driven to be successful. And obviously they continue down that path with Diesel Barbershop. Richard proudly states, “Diesel was first released as a franchise in 2018. Our McKinney location was the first in the country and has remained the #1 diesel franchise in the country since we opened.” The Harvey brothers are very thankful to those in the McKinney & Prosper area and have found it to be a community they really want to be involved in—and they say they are just getting started. ANTIQUES ARE MAKING A COMEBACK. Whether you’re an antique aficionada, a thrifty thrifter or new to the whole concept of vintage revival; whether it’s a hand-me-down, a thrift-store-find or just something cool you stumbled upon at an estate sale; endless opportunities exist to effortlessly incorporate retro, vintage, antique or whatever-you-want-to-call-them items into different parts of your modern home.

WHAT IT IS Antique Chest STYLE IT Coffee Table PRO TIP Revive solid-wood pieces with little actual value by refinishing the wood to your liking.

Don’t be afraid to do something different, and don’t take things too seriously. If the piece you’re working with doesn’t have any real value, you have so many options to liven it up, including paint, finish and hardware.

Make your piece multi-purpose by turning the lid into a game table or by storing your cocktail accessories inside for an easy-access mini bar!

Spread the vintage love. Use antiques strategically and as accent pieces to keep your overall aesthetic from coming off as too dated.

As they laid on their brand new beds it was the first time they had ever laid on a bed or a pillow in their entire lives. The Angel House staff wrapped their arms around the children and welcomed them into more than just their new homes, but their new lives. The Angel House team in India knew far too well the sobering fate of abandoned orphans. Without intervention, each child would succumb to a life of destitution. Angel House could not stop with 1 home. Lindsay and her team refused to just “see” the need, but resolved to take action. Just weeks after the first home opened, Lindsay competed and won on the NBC popular game show “Minute To Win It!” In a single moment, more than 8.5 million households heard about Angel House as Lindsay competed in hopes to use the money to build more homes in India. It was just the beginning! What began as one house construction for just one group of children has now grown into dozens of homes and thousands of children rescued out of the slums! Hundreds of orphans and street children who would otherwise be trapped in forced child labor, human trafficking, or begging on the streets now have a safe place to call home.
