Happy New Year! FIVE, FOUR, THREE, TWO, ONE! As we begin 2020, a new decade, we set goals for what we want our future selves to be like and look like. We take a glance back at where we have been and what we have done, and we try to remember to extend ourselves grace. January is a time to cleanse, to start fresh and not dwell on who we were 12 months ago. So much change can happen in a year, so as we plan our future and commit to

The team handles general wellness, dentistry, diet and nutrition matters, microchipping, parasite control, preventive care, vaccinations, diagnostic services, ultrasound, radiography, electrocardiography, lab services, allergy issues, surgeries, reproduction services, holistic and therapy services, internal medicine, daycare, boarding, grooming and travel certificates. To support pets’ overall health, they offer Pet Annual Wellness Plans (PAW Plans) to cover a broad range of services. “We understand the special role your pet plays in your family and are dedicated to becoming your partner in your pet’s health care,” says Dr. Wayne Boillat, Veterinary Group managing DVM. This animal hospital recently added a board-certified small animal surgeon to the practice’s offerings to handle specific, scheduled surgeries at the practice, within an environment that pet patients already know, rather than needing to go to a unfamiliar specialty clinic. “Pet owners can feel comfortable knowing that their pet’s doctor and technician also are here, with veterinary surgeon Dr. Jennifer Wardlaw, “ explains Joumana Palusci, Veterinary Group hospital manager. Joumana says Dr. Wardlaw’s surgical services include TPLO, patella luxation, hips (JPS, TPO, FHO), airway, fractures, PRP injections and surgical oncology. VeterinaryGroup.net

A board-certified phlebologist, Dr. Goldstein graduated from the University Of Missouri Medical School, and, by his own admission, was not quite sure where he would land. “Being from a Jewish family, a doctor was the big thing,” he says. “But I’m a rebel at heart, and I wanted to be a forest ranger, an architect, an artist, maybe a jazz musician or short stop for the St. Louis Cardinals.” When William’s family moved from one home to another, he ran across a small book he had written when he was about six or seven titled “My autobiography,” and in it, he had written, “I’m going to be a doctor.” In his third year of medical school, William’s father died of brain cancer, which had a profound effect on his view of medicine. “He was my best friend,” he says. “I watched what he went through, his interface with the medical community, and kept wondering, ‘Where’s the compassion?’
