The signs of aging increase exponentially with time. The pull of gravity, slower metabolism, and everyday stress lead to stretching, sagging, weight gain, wrinkles, age spots, and a ‘run-down’ appearance. Fortunately, with aging comes wisdom. As a result we set our goals, and find the means to achieve them. There are four different levels of cosmetic medical care: noninvasive; minimally invasive; moderately invasive; and invasive. The first three levels are performed at Take Shape Plastic Surgery in the MediSpa, exam rooms, and minor procedure room. The fourth level is performed at Take Shape Surgical Center, a Medicare-certified, state-licensed and nationally accredited ambulatory surgical center. Invasive or surgical procedures are grouped by three target areas: The face includes surgical repositioning and volume restoration for rejuvenation; The breasts include lifting, augmentation, reduction, and reconstruction; and body contouring includes arm, thigh, and body lifts,

liposuction, and tummy tucks. At all stages of life, invasive procedures are instrumental to our patients’ antiaging regimen. Teens come in for ear surgery, rhinoplasty, and breast reshaping. Patients beginning in their twenties request breast augmentations and liposuction to improve their overall body image. Typically, patients in their thirties and forties begin asking for brow lifts and eyelid surgery to maintain their youthful and vibrant appearance. For patients in their fifties and sixties, life is far from slowing down. At this stage, surgical facial rejuvenation, body contouring, and second surgeries to build on previous cosmetic procedures are recommended. This reduces excess skin, restores tone and defi nition, refines the profile, and rejuvenates one’s overall look. In combination with invasive procedures, moderately invasive procedures soften lines, creases, and wrinkles, plump thin lips, and enhance shallow contours. Examples include injectibles such as Botox®, Sculptra®, Belotero® Juvederm®, Restylane®, and Radiesse®, to deep chemical peels. These are key preventative procedures to treat forehead frown lines, laugh lines, and skin volume loss. For more subtle results, we offer minimally invasive procedures. The effect is to even out skin tone, increase cell turnover, promote cell growth, remove unsightly veins or

abnormal hair growth, and stimulate collagen production to maintain the skin’s youthful appearance. Especially for teens challenged with peer acceptance, procedures such as microdermabrasion, light chemical peels, and laser hair removal provide viable solutions to boost confidence. Commonly referred to as spa treatments, noninvasive procedures are therapeutic, relaxing, and revit alizing, albeit temporary. Examples include facials and microdermabrasion for improving skin tone and pigment. As with minimally invasive procedures, noninvasive procedures apply to individuals at all ages.
