The Vermont State Song: These Green Mountains These green hills and silver waters Are my home - they belong to me And to all of her sons and daughters May they be strong and forever free Let us live to protect her beauty And look with pride on the golden dome They say home is where the heart is These green mountains are my home These green mountains are my home

There
are
six
elementary
schools
in
our
Supervisory
Union:
Barnard
 Academy,
Bridgewater
Village
School,
Reading
Elementary
School,

 Sherburne
(Killington)
Elementary
School,
The
Pomfret
School
and

 Woodstock
Elementary
School.

All
of
the
schools
are
in
Windsor
 County,
which
is
in
south
central
Vermont.

Our
elementary
school
populations
are
small.

Most
of
our
schools
 have
fewer
than
80
students
in
grades
Pre‐K
through
Six.

The
 name
 Vermont
 likely
 comes
 from
 the
 French
 Les
 Verts
 Monts,
 meaning
“The
Green
Mountains.”

Sometimes
the
mountains
look
green,
 sometimes
 they
 look
 blue,
 sometimes
 they
 are
 white,
 and
 at
 times
 during
the
Fall,
they
sing
with
many
colors.
 Killington
Mountain
is
the
second
largest
mountain
in
Vermont.

 Students
ski
in
the
winter
months
at
our
schools.

Barnard
Academy
is
located
in
Barnard,
Vermont.

This
is
my
 hometown.

I
love
teaching
in
Barnard
–
it
only
takes
me
a
few
 minutes
to
get
to
the
school!

On
March
2nd
we
celebrate
Dr.
Seuss’s
birthday
by
reading
Dr.
Seuss
books.
 Do
you
know
the
book,
The
Cat
in
the
Hat?

was
finally
starting
to

In
Winter
there
will
be
snow
‐
lots
and
lots
of
snow.

Snow
is
fun
to
play
in,
 but
you
also
have
to
shovel
it
up.

What
would
you
do
if
you
visited
my
area
of
Vermont?
 Ski

 Snowshoe
