After graduating from the school, he became the first assistant professional at Southern Trace Country Club in Shreveport, before moving on to Golf TEC in 1996. Parks is a certified Titleist, Ping, Taylormade, Nike, Callaway, Mizuno, Cleaveland and Nakashima clubfitter. He has given over 8,000 golf lessons and has published numerous articles in GolfTips. He is married to the former, Laurie Lawshe of Goodman, Mississippi, and the couple has a nine-year-old son Jack and a five-year-old daughter Emmie.
