LA TECH I/O DOCTORAL PROGRAM

Deann Arnold DeAnn Arnold was raised all over the world as a military brat, settling in Northwest Louisiana. She received her Master's Degree in I/O Psychology from Louisiana Tech in 2002 and since that time held various leadership positions in Human Resources. DeAnn is spending her third year of the doctoral program as an intern for a non-profit organization working to develop a selection tool for a statewide agency. Her research interests include expertise, job analysis, and fairness in selection. Fun Fact: DeAnn is an avid runner and enjoys spending time with her two young children, Anden and Cole.

Christopher Castille Christopher is from New Iberia, LA and has a BS in Psychology from Louisiana State University and MA in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Louisiana Tech University. Currently, the questions guiding his research are (1) how does intelligence manifest itself at work, (2) how can we contextualize the assessment of intelligence, (3) does intelligence predict other work-relevant criteria, and (4) what can be done to understand the role of narrow cognitive abilities in the performance of work behavior? Fun Fact: Chris makes the best gumbo you will ever taste.

Stephanie Murphy Stephanie Murphy was born and raised in South Louisiana. She serves as financial officer and project manager for AROS Consulting. She completed a research internship and was a discharge planner at a rehabilitation hospital before pursuing her Ph.D. at Louisiana Tech University. She received her B.S. in psychology from the University of New Orleans and her M.A. in I-O psychology from Louisiana Tech. Currently, she is in her third year, and she researches work & family integration, diversity management, and the application of Reversal Theory to workplace concepts. Fun Fact: Stephanie can quote every word from both Cars movies and all three Toy Story movies, but not as fast as her three-year old son.

Victoria Smoak Victoria Smoak is a native of the north Louisiana cotton farming community of Dixie. After completing her undergraduate degree at LSU-Shreveport, Victoria moved to Ruston to attend La Tech. She is a proud Bulldog fan, the 7th member of her family to attend La Tech. As a third year Ph.D. student, Victoria is working on an AROS project leading a team of doctoral students involved in research design and data collection for a cyber security project funded by a Defense Department grant. Her personal research is focused on effective and favored leaders of culturally diverse followers, with implications for MNC managers or expat leaders in the field. Fun Fact: Victoria is a vegetarian, currently training for her first half marathon. 9
