Team FDJ 2002/2012. 10 years of partnership.h Lapierre begins its 10th season as close partner of the FDJ with more than enthusiasm! A collaboration that has lasted so long is something of a rarity in the cycling world, and it deserves to be celebrated. The adventure started after a meeting between Gilles Lapierre and Marc Madiot, emblematic leader of the FDJ team and a passionate cyclist with values and conviction. With two Paris-Roubaix titles under his belt, he’s been part of the professional peloton as a rider and now a directeur sportif for years, so when he puts his team in our hands, we rise to the occasion to surpass his expectations. Our partnership is built on common values: being close to the riders, a strong code of ethics, hard work, longterm results, and a firm belief in young talent. The French public seems to agree, making the FDJ their favourite team since 2006. Ten Tour de

Frances (6 stage wins), 7 Giros (2 stage wins), 6 Vueltas (2 stage wins), 2 Paris-Tours, numerous world and national titles, including 6 National Cyclocross Championship titles for Francis Mourey…the FDJ jersey has been everywhere. Today, the FDJ has a new direction and even higher ambitions. With team leaders Sandy Casar, Frédéric Guesdon, Francis Mourey and Benoit Vaugrenard as a foundation, up-and-coming riders such as Jérémy Roy and Anthony Roux will have to prove that they are the future generation of cycling. Along with newcomers Pierrick Fedrigo and Rémi Pauriol, it’s their turn to give it their all. We’ll be there to support them with state-of-the-art technology and an encouraging “Allez!” the entire season.

AeroStorm : Don’t battle the wind, create it! For the new time trial frame, our engineers spent months working with FDJ riders and utilising wind tunnel tests to optimise its aerodynamics. The result, called Aerostorm, is a true technological feat. The brief given to engineers was indeed demanding : create a lightweight, aerodynamic frame without compromising stiffness, yet it must thoroughly respect the strict UCI regulations. The end result is a new-generation time trial frame with an 6
innovative and harmonious frame/stem/seat post ensemble. A frame made to optimise the strength of the rider and minimise air resistance. With front wheel and saddle adjustment options, the frame can be adapted for time trial riders or triathletes to achieve maximum performance. A new innovation from Lapierre, honoured with a Eurobike Award in 2010. 7

Xelius : winning carbon technology The Lapierre Xelius frame is made using an exclusive monocoque carbon technology and HM and VHM unidirectional carbon fibres. Silicone mandrels are pre-molded to have the exact shape of the inside of the frame. This means that there is unified pressure applied to the entire frame during the heating and molding stage, resulting in a perfectly smooth finish and therefore better adhesion between the carbon layers. Lapierre technology dedicated to endurance and comfort The Sensium 2 frame has optimised its exceptional comfort yet is still even lighter (900g in size 46). The semi-compact geometry and the special tubes with an elastomeric connector disperse vibrations while transmitting all your pedalling energy to the rear wheel. Like the Xelius, the front triangle of the Sensium frame is made using unidirectional HM carbon fibres. The monocoque production process uses silicone mandrels to apply a uniform pressure to the inside of the tubes, creating a perfectly smooth finish and better adhesion between the carbon layers.
