Emelia is the daughter of Bryan and Eileen Rush of Grand Ledge; Cameron is the son of Shane and Dawn Bartlett of Charlotte; and Mia is the daughter of Karim and Marcie Abdullah of Lansing. In the fifth-grade competition, Sam Dziuba, McKyle Stanfield and Amelia Mills took first-, second- and third-place honors, respectively. Sam

Emelia, Cameron, Sam and McKyle will each receive checks for $200, while Mia and Amelia will receive $100 checks. Emelia and Sam will also receive $100 gift certificates to a local bicycle shop. All will receive oneyear family memberships in the Tri-County Bicycle Association. In addition, St. Gerard School will receive a $600 cash award as the school of both firstplace winners. The contest was

intended to stimulate thought and discussion as well as to provide a fun creative activity around the theme “I’m a smart and safe cyclist.” Winners and their families were recognized, and awards will be presented at the May 26 meeting of the Tri-County Bicycle Association at Foster Community Center in Lansing.
