CLUB UPDATE
BRIAN PIZZIMENTI brian.pizzimenti@lakenona.com407.209.1221
Dear Members,
In keeping with the trend of recent years, March continues to be one of the busiest months at the Club. Early in the month, everyone enjoyed a family Drive-In Movie night featuring the live-action Aladdin, with the biggest hit of the night being the popcorn bar, while the Lake Nona Ladies' Association hosted a Wellness Weekend with featured educational sessions with industry health and beauty professionals. We received wonderful comments on the Frank Family Wine Dinner with winemaker Todd Graff. The Chef’s Garden Farmer's Market continues to be very popular with its focus on locally grown fruits and vegetables along with an assortment of house-made selections. Our annual St. Patrick’s Day Celebration was well attended and everyone enjoyed the festive Irish dance performance, activities, and Irish-inspired dinner. Nona Crew kept our youngest Members engaged with themed monthly events for all ages, as well as a "spirit week" Spring Break Camp. Fitness & Wellness hosted several interesting Lunch & Learn programs, new class offerings, and debuted an allnew Run Club in preparation for the Run Nona event on May 18. Our STK Night returned by popular demand featuring a DJ for an amped-up Main Dining experience. In golf news, several Club-favorite tournaments - the Ladies' Member-Guest and the 17th Annual Griffon Cup: Men's Member-Guest - were successfully contested with the course showcasing beautifully for our Members and their invited guests. Congratulations to all our champions (complete results on p. 21).
At the time of this update, we are preparing for an Easter weekend filled with actitivies, beginning with a Friday Fish Fry, followed by our annual Parent-Child (Golf) Championship and a Sping Fling Pickleball Social on Saturday, and concluding on Sunday with what promises to be a record-setting Easter Brunch with over 425 Member families joining us to celebrate the holiday with Easter Bunny photos, a petting zoo, and an "egg-stravagant" egg hunt race to collect over 1,000 filled eggs!
This month, as we transition to spring, we are excited for the debut of our new seasonal menus in both Fairways and Main Dining room, and we welcome several seasonally inspired events, along with new and engaging programming for all ages. I encourage you to join us for the following can’t miss events:
• Scott Sutter Soccer Program (April 4) • Glo Golf: Adult "Par-Tee" (April 13)
• Masters Wine Dinner (April 10) • Ladies' Member-Member (April 16 & 17)
• Big Dreams Bloom Series (April 7) • Volunteering Fair (April 19)
• Par 3 Championship (April 10)
• Mixed Golf Invitational (April 28)
As we continue our efforts to train, assist, and enhance employment opportunities at Lake Nona Golf & Country Club, I am delighted to share that we will once again be offering English classes for Lake Nona team members twice a week from April 1 – August 16. The benefits of this program are farreaching beyond their daily responsibilities at the Club, as this valuable program benefits not only our team members but their families in their daily lives.
Your feedback is always welcomed and encouraged, thank you for your continued support and I look forward to seeing you at the Club.
Sincerely,
Brian Pizzimenti, CCM General ManagerMEMBERSHIP DIRECTORY

The conclusion of March, our busiest month of the year on the course, hosted several of the membership’s most loved events played out on what has been arguably the course’s best condition in its history. At the ladies' leap year-themed “Leap it Up” Member-Guest event, Jean Johnston and her guests were victorious in the Gross division, while Beth MacDonald and Laura Aldrich and their guests brought home the Net prize after escaping a forecast of unfavorable weather. Speaking of weather, the golfing gods were kind for the 17th Annual Griffon Cup, which also escaped a dire forecast to deliver interesting conditions paired with firm and fast greens to keep all the players on their toes. A true test of golf, which was eventually won in a playoff hole by father-son team Bruce and David Canning after David chipped in on Hole 18 to get into a playoff! A remarkable end to what was a memorable week for all involved. A great team effort was made to ensure we delivered on these signature Club tournaments for our Members and their guests. Kudos to the maintenance and food and beverage teams for showcasing beautiful course conditions and culinary prowess, along with a special thanks to Martin McTernan and Neely Robertson and the entire golf team, who were instrumental in organizing these tournaments.
Looking ahead for April, we have much to enjoy, with the conclusion of our season-long Match Play events for those who remain in the competition, as well as our annual Par 3 championship, a TaylorMade Fitting day, our annual Ladies' Member-Member, as well as a debut showing of our Mixed Invitational. We look forward to having you join us for these upcoming events.
Last month, I lamented at the lack of care over the course, especially the bunkers. While we have seen some improvement, more needs to be done. Please be advised that we have installed trail cameras around the course and will be moving them daily to monitor cart, bunker, and general course care, to make sure we following through on encouraging the correct etiquette that should be shown at Lake Nona. Thank you for continuing to be good stewards of the course and conditions we can be proud of.

COURSE NEWS
NICHOLAS DOLIMPIO407.209.1281
As we transition into spring, I am hopeful that the recent cold front preceding this year's Griffon Cup marks the conclusion of wintry weather for the year. Since February, it appears that the El Niño cycle of cloudy conditions has dissipated, blessing us with ample sunshine throughout March. This, coupled with the absence of frosts this year, has woke up the Bermuda grass in the rough sooner than anticipated.
While we braced ourselves for a challenging transition period due to diminished sunlight from November to February, the Bermuda grass' early arrival is a pleasant surprise. The short-cut Bermuda on the greens, tees, approaches, and fairways is thriving and will have no transition issues. Moving forward into April, we plan to reduce the height of the rough in shaded areas and high cart traffic zones to encourage Bermuda growth as we did last year.
As we progress through the remainder of spring leading up to our first scheduled aerification at the end of May, our focus shifts towards enhancing playability, particularly in terms of green speeds, more so than in previous years. While we traditionally elevate speeds for tournaments, this season, our greens boast the deepest root systems in my nine seasons with Lake Nona, enabling us to sustain increased stress levels. As long as the greens signal they are healthy, we will continue to push for higher speeds.
Amidst our efforts to nurture Bermuda regrowth, we kindly urge everyone to assist us by adhering to the designated wooden posts when entering and exiting fairways. We adjust these posts daily to distribute cart traffic evenly. If you notice grass flattened from repeated cart use in a specific area, please offset your tires slightly to spread out the wear. These small considerations while navigating the course will significantly aid our transition back to Bermuda grass.
CART POLICY REMINDERS
With the addition of the new cart path marker posts on the golf course (pictured here), we wanted to share a friendly reminder regarding golf cart policies intended to protect the course conditions for your continued enjoyment.
Carts must remain on cart paths around all tees and greens complexes.
Carts may enter/exit the hole only once they have passed the wooden marker post.
Carts are not permitted on approaches.
Carts must stay on cart paths when “Cart Path Only” signs are displayed.
Members caught violating these policies or abusing the privilege of using a personal cart on the course, will be subject to disciplinary action.

Last month was an active one for Lake Nona Realty, starting with one closing at the very end of February and three closings in March. As our lead tracking indicated, we saw more buyers and leads coming through online than months prior, which typically indicates increased buyer demand in the months to come.
With resale inventory remaining very low, we’re excited to feature a new listing in the neighborhood – a Mediterranean masterpiece with stunning golf course views of Holes 2, 6, 7 and 8 (pages 32 & 33).
As part of the expansion of our services to the larger Lake Nona Region, we have relaunched our social media channels and look forward to sharing our hyper-local expertise, and exclusive access to the latest Lake Nona news and events, with all of our followers. Inspired by a Tuscan vision, this stunning residence offers the perfect setting for indoor/outdoor living and entertaining. With a backdrop of serene golf and water views, the unique property offers 6,101 square feet of living space and features five bedrooms, six full and one-half baths.
Imported mahogany doors open into a dramatic two-story foyer with an exquisite faux copper tray ceiling and custom chandelier. Continue into a remarkable inviting great room that flows into formal and casual dining rooms, a gourmet kitchen designed for the most discriminating cook and expansive outside living areas that are perfect for hosting intimate gatherings and large parties.
Mediterranean influence is found throughout the first level, with accents such as Italian Renaissance tile; custom-paneled doors; cove lighting; handpainted and custom-tiled wall treatments; and travertine floors inlaid with wood and imported tile accents. Ascend the grand curved staircase to the second level, which features an open, railed passage overlooking the foyer and great room below. Completing the upper level are three en suite bedrooms and a beautifully designed home theater with eight leather recliners and Murano glass lighting fixtures.
