THE Art of Elysium OFFICIAL BENEFICIARY The Art of Elysium, a non-profit 501(c) (3) organization founded in 1997, encourages working actors, artists and musicians to voluntarily dedicate their time and talent to children who are battling serious medical conditions. We provide artistic workshops in the following disciplines: acting, art, comedy, fashion, music, radio, songwriting and creative writing. The Art of Elysium is dedicated to enriching the lives of artists and critically ill children. We believe that there is a powerful and mutual exchange of hope and appreciation that occurs when artists share their time and talent with children battling serious medical conditions. The lives of these children are largely filled with suffering, loneliness, fear and regimen. Artists have the unique ability to help children in need find a creative voice and discover a sense of individuality and self-efficacy, even in the midst of overwhelmingly difficult circumstances. In return, those same artists, who have been taken outside of their normal scope of work, are stretched and enriched in ways they never imagined. Through this inimitable exchange between artist and child, the artist experiences the power of giving and the child experiences the power of their own artistic journey.

KIDS AT THE GETTY Each year, 100,000 students and their teachers visit the J. Paul Getty Museum at its two locations. These visits provide the opportunity to have direct experiences with original works of art. Since 2005, the Getty Museum has been offering fullysubsidized bus transportation to Title One schools throughout Los Angeles, ensuring that as many students as possible can visit the Getty and experience the collection and the site through guided and self-guided visits and architecture and garden tours. Studies have shown that museum experiences may inspire students to make unique personal and academic connections by taking learning outside of the classroom and allowing them to learn in different ways. For many students visiting the Getty, this may be their first museum experience. The hope is that the excitement and intrigue of their visit leads them to become future museum visitors. Beyond these introductory visits, the Getty Museum partners with school communities and cultural and community organizations to develop opportunities for longer-term, in-depth learning experiences. In addition to its strong commitment to K-12 students and teachers, the Museum provides a vast array of programs and materials for children and families, post-secondary faculty and students, and adults and scholars.
