FINAL MAJOR PROJECT

BRIEF TITLE

Limited Edition Swatch Watch Designs Brief Create a range of limited edition Swatch watches based upon the theme of either black and white or orange. The watches must be fun and bold to fit with the creative Swatch concept. A limited edition packaging will also need to be designed. Background Considerations -

What age will I be aiming my product range at? What will make the range of limited edition watches ‘limited edition and special?’ Will they be for males, females or unisex? Look into what already exists in Swatch’s product range

Mandatory Requirements -

The brand will need an identity that will stand out in a shop environment and something that has not been done before. A bold and fun concept for the product range

Deliverables -

A range of 5 (maybe more) finalised Swatch Limited Edition watch designs and exclusive packaging. Retail promotion for the products. Webpage for the Limited Edition Products

BRIEF TITLE

UK Greetings Cards YCN Brief Brief The brief for the UK Greetings Cards brief on YCN was to create a range of greetings cards with a running theme. I have done this brief in OUGD301 but have decided to give it another go in order to make more of it. The brief will be pushing the brief by creating a full product range, which will be printed more professionally.

Background Considerations -

What is already out there in the card market? What makes my product stand out from the rest? What else can I produce? How can I develop this brief into something amazing? What theme will I base my designs upon?

Mandatory Requirements -

Target audience Range of products, cards, gift wrap, gift boxes etc Something that doesn’t already exist

Deliverables A full product range based around a chosen theme. I will also be designing a logo and packaging and promotion for the range of cards to broaden the outcomes of the brief.

BRIEF TITLE

Make up Branding Brief Create a new brand of day and night make up wear targeted at 18-24 year olds. The brand must be young and fun and use bold colours as a concept. Background Considerations -

What brands already exist and what do they have to offer? What will make this brand stand out from the existing market? What products will be included in the range? What sort of female market will the brand be aimed at?

Mandatory Requirements -

The brand will need an identity that will stand out in a shop environment and something that has not been done before. A range of products targeted at 18-24 year old girls A collection of day and night wearing makeup products A bold and fun concept for the brand and its product packaging

Deliverables An exciting new makeup brand with a product range for day and night wear.

BRIEF TITLE

Lego YCN Student Awards 2012/13 Brief This brief is a YCN Competition Brief, below is the creative challenge taken from the YCN website:

The Creative Challenge To create a campaign for the LEGO Brand that distinguishes LEGO from all the other construction toys in the toy market by highlighting the benefits and points of difference of LEGO rather than the detriments of our competitors. The campaign should encompass the LEGO brand values and take advantage of LEGO’s heritage and strong brand equity within the UK. Mission: Inspire and develop the builders of tomorrow. Vision: Inventing the future of play. Play Promise: Joy of building, pride of creation.      

Brand Values: Imagination Creativity Fun Learning Caring Quality Background Considerations -

What Lego campaigns are already out there? How do competitors promote their products? What is it that makes Lego so special?


Mandatory Requirements -

Create a campaign that stands out from what’s been done and Lego competitors Focus on Lego’s brand values Create something new and exciting that will make adults and children inspired by Lego

Deliverables -

A creative campaign that puts Lego on the top of its market

BRIEF TITLE

Geek Table Collective Brief Geek Table Collective (Collaboration)

Background Considerations -

Who is the Geek Table? What do we do? What makes up our collective? What do we have to offer?

Mandatory Requirements -

Branding, including logo text and imagery Letter heads, business cards, website, CV’s, bio’s

Deliverables A finished range of branding material for the Geek Table Collective

With this brief we were thinking of coming up with a brief once a week for us to all work on. The brief will benefit us as designers but they will also be a bit of fun. We are each going to write our own brief to state what we want to get out of the brief.

Children’s School Accessories Brief Create a range of children’s school accessories that are fun and engaging. The range will include products for lunch, a book bag and stationary.

FINAL MAJOR PROJECT

BRIEF TITLE

Paper Installation Brief Create a range of four seasonal window display installations using paper for a high end store.

Background Considerations -

What shop will I create the displays for? What scale do I need to make the displays? What has already been done before?

Mandatory Requirements -

The display will have to reflect on the personality of the shop How far can I push paper crafting? Where will I get my paper from?

Deliverables A collection of four seasonal window displays created from purely paper. I will also have a collection of mock ideas at a smaller scale to show developmental work along with a catalogue of paper crafting to show how the idea developed.
