Lauren Gaw ’06 just filmed a series of videos for NASA that will be shown in the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. Lauren says, “It was fun pretending to be in space, but we had to sit on a crazy half bike seat for most of the day. It wasn’t the most comfortable thing in the world, but at least it looked like we were in microgravity!” Last year, Lauren used the skills she learned as a Kinkaid cheerleader while filming Disney’s Zombies and Cheerleaders. Damian Horan ’99 has taken the filmmaking industry by storm. His thesis film, Children of the Air, just finished its festival circuit, and his newest project Candyland, a webseries, features toddlers of the Pacific Palisades in an off-beat, satirical comedy. His bigger budget work these days has been more behind the camera as Director of Photography. He just finished a zombie movie starring Daryl Hannah, Anthony Michael Hall, Alan Ruck and Shirley Jones. Jaynie Saunders Tiller ’97 is the managing director of New Georges, one of New York City’s premiere “downtown” theater companies, a home and a playground for some of the most adventurous theater artists (who are women) working today. Looking back Tiller realizes that her arts management career started at Kinkaid when she became Arts Board president her senior year, “I see now that I’ve always been producing and organizing the world around the art – figuring out how to best support artists and best excite audiences.”
