Some would call it coincidence, but this couple calls it luck.
How did a boy from Norway and a girl from Canada end up spending the rest of their lives together? They both happened to go to the University of North Dakota at the same time and, having spotted each other a few weekends in a row, they finally went on a first date and became inseparable. When Vanessa finished school and moved back to Winnipeg, their "shortdistance" relationship only grew stronger. In a year and a half, they were reunited.
ESPEN’S PROPOSAL CAME AS A HUGE SURPRISE TO VANESSA.
Having woken up bright and early to embark on their long weekend trip to Minneapolis, Vanessa was still in her pyjamas when Espen proposed with a custom designed ring inspired by her mother’s. They had just enough time to tell their family and friends the big news before leaving the country to enjoy a “minimoon” together.

You know those stories about couples that seem like fate brought them together? Well, Kelly and Nolin are definitely one of them. They first met through mutual friends in the summer of 2005 and while Kelly had her eye on Nolin right away, the two didn’t stay in touch. It wasn’t until a friend’s birthday party the following January that sparks flew and the pair made a connection. This time Kelly and Nolin made sure to keep in touch and even started dating.
LOVE CAME QUICKLY AND THE REST IS HISTORY!
They purchased their first home together in 2012 and on September 6, 2013, the couple went on a night out reminiscent of their first date which included dinner and a movie. After arriving back home and enjoying quality time together with wine and candles setting the mood, Nolin popped the question to which Kelly exclaimed, “Hell, yeah!”

When Reena and Hamish met for their first date, the meal they were enjoying was easily forgotten as they were so immersed in conversation. After seeing Hamish use his arm to wipe off her car during the first snowfall of the season, Reena was left smiling all the way home. Hamish’s thoughtfulness continuously surprised Reena and made his proposal unforgettable. Remembering all of her favourite things, he planned a whole day to spend together leading up to the moment where he presented her with a box full of mementos from their years together. As the old saying goes, “food brings people together.” For Elaina and Geoff, that couldn’t be more true.
The pair met while working together in a kitchen years ago, and bonded over their love for cooking. It wasn't until a few years later, however, that they went on their first date—a romantic evening spent in the Exchange District, one of their favourite places in the city. Their love was put to the test when Elaina travelled overseas to explore the world and even take up a job in London, England, but when she returned, their relationship was stronger than ever.

Styled at Larter's Golf & Country Club, the It's Love team fell in love with everything from the cookies to the stationery, and the cloth stem wrap for the floral bouquet. Our antique cutlery matched the decadent plate settings that we found at a local store, and the groom's pocket square added a little bit of fun. Russell and Megan were on a one month tour in Europe visiting Italy, Switzerland, and France when, one evening on the patio of their bed and breakfast, Russell proposed to Megan. Six years later, the couple bought their first home in Niverville and were excited to celebrate their first Christmas together.
Candise thought it was important at this time to start traditions like stockings. While the pair always competed to see who could wrap the most beautiful gift, she was surprised to find a fairly ugly looking present waiting for her under the tree. As she opened it on Christmas morning, however, she found a tiny empty stocking hiding inside the layers of wrapping paper. As she turned to Jeremy laughing, she found him holding the most beautiful princess cut diamond ring and before Jeremy even had a chance to propose, Candise exclaimed yes. In the realization that the question wasn’t asked, and being the jokester he is, Jeremy prompted Candise to ask him to marry her – and she did.

Straying from the Indian tradition of wearing a red wedding dress, the bride had a pink lehenga flown across the ocean from India that suited her perfectly. The couple
Simmy and Kunit met in the summer of 2011 through the help of their little sisters. From their first meeting, there were sparks between them and the two have been inseparable ever since. A year after their whirlwind romance began, Kunit proposed at their favourite restaurant vowing to spend the rest of their lives together.
