AlthoughPawtuckawayis onthelargersidewhenitcomesto localcampgrounds,manyofthe sitesaresurprisinglysecluded. The sitesarenicelynestledamongthe trees,andsomeofthesitesprovide viewsofthelake. Ofcourse,no campsitewouldbecomplete withoutanopenfireplace,and picnictable,andPawtuckawaydoes notdisappoint,aseachsiteincludes thoseessentials,aswellasflatcamp areasforatent,aswellasaparking space. Thosewhoenjoytent camping,aswellasthosemore comfortablewithanRVarewelcomeatthecampground,although therearenohook-ups fortheRVor pop-upcampers. pistachio-crustedsalmon,anda Szechuanveganbowl.Thetaproom, whichservesbeerandhardcider, offerslighterfare,includingstoneovenpizza.

Themead,whichusesorganic honeythatyeastconvertstoalcohol, isinfusedwithdifferentfruitsand spicestocreateuniqueflavorexperiences.Someofthemareagedon oakforaddeddepthandmouthfeel. Meadisnon-carbonated,likewine, andistypicallysoldincorkedbottles.

MoonlightisknownforitssemisweetmeadcalledDesire,whichis 14%alcoholandmadewithblack currant,blackcherryandblueberry. ThesweeterSmoldermeadismade withraspberriesandchipotlepeppers,forasmokyandspicyfinish. AnotherfavoriteisKurt’sApplePie, anapplemeadwithVietnamesecinnamonandMadagascarbourbon vanilla.
