Unang Filipino Soccer Club sa UAE itinatag
DUBAI -– Sa wakas, may pambato na rin ang mga Pinoy sa UAE sa larangan ng larong football. Ito ang buong pagmamalaking inihayag ng mga bagong halal na opisyal at mga miyembro ng katatatag lamang na Pinoy Futbol Club (Pinoy FC), matapos silang mabigyan ng accreditation at kilalanin ng tangga-
pan ng Philippine Consulate Office sa Dubai. Mahigit sa 40 miyembro ng naturang grupo ang nagsipagdalo sa kanilang kauna-unahang General Assembly at Induction of Officers kamakailan, kung saan sina Vice Consul Geronimo Saliguin Jr ng Philippine Consulate Office in
Dubai at Binibining Matilyn Bagunu, communications director ng Filipino Community (FilCom) ang mga piling bisita. Sa pagtitipon ding iyon ay inanunsiyo ng grupo ang kanilang nakatakdang laro laban sa isang British Team sa Al Wasl Stadium, na ayon sa kanila ay pagkakataon na
para sa mga pinoy na maipakita ang kagalingan nito sa pinakatanyag na laro sa buong mundo. Ipinaalam naman ng mga opisyal ng grupo ang kanilang planong pagbibigay ng mga sports clinics at trainings para sa mga kabataang lalaki at maging mga babae na nais matuto ng larong ito. Sa ngayon ay

PICPA Dubai Chapter: Accounting for non-accountants (AFNA) 1&2 seminar
PICPA Dubai Chapter recently conducted a two-day Accounting for Non-Accountants (AFNA) 1&2 Seminar last 06 and 13 May 2011 at Movenpick Hotel, Deira, Dubai. AFNA 1&2 is part of the professional development program of the Chapter in promoting high standards of accounting professions in UAE. The primary objective of this seminar is to provide non-accounting professionals, business owners and professional growth seekers with the right theoretical and technical understanding of basic accounting concepts, understand the role
of accounting and finance professional in business organizations and appreciate the significance of accounting in business operations. Lecture includes six topics: AFNA 1 comprises of Forms of Business Organization, Types of Business Operation, Overview of Basic Accounting and Accounting Process/Cycle and AFNA 2 deals with Concepts of Accruals/Deferrals, Treasury Functions and Comprehensive Exercises of all topics. This seminar was attended and participated by 36 non-accountant Filipinos working from various fields
of industries in different places in Dubai and Northern Emirates. By simply learning the basic accounting concepts and applications, these are beneficial for personal and professional career advancement. The speakers and lecturers in this seminar were Mr. Edgar Bacason (PICPA Dubai Adviser), Mr. Melvin Pineda, Mr. Joan S. Tongco, Mr. Jonathan dela Cruz and Ms Maebelle Grace Prado. Most of them are also Instructors in the on-going PICPA Dubai Review Program. PICPA Dubai Chapter is continuing committing service that gives
more information, knowledge and skills to our fellow Filipinos and other nationalities in the field of accounting and finance professions in UAE. As part of the Outreach Program of the Chapter, PICPA Dubai will participate in the celebration of 113th Philippine Independence Day on June 10, 2011 to be held at Al Shabab Sports Club, Deira and PICPA Council will be extending free consultation on financial literacy. On June 17, 2011, PICPA Dubai and PICPA Abu Dhabi will be holding their Inter-Chapter Ac-
tivity (PICPAns @ Fun Bowling) at Dubai International Bowling Center, Al Mamzar near Century Mall and the 4th PICPA Dubai General Membership Meeting and Election of Officers for 2011-2012 is tentatively scheduled on July 01, 2011.
