TBH with Jubs: Christians in a NonChristian World A Humanitarian Article By Jubilee Chiu To be honest, being a Christian in a secular society is very difficult. It's awkward to talk about your faith for reasons like being labelled, rejected, judged, and mocked. Not to mention, there are so many different types of Christianity! We could easily spend hours debating each other on what the absolute truth is. People are naturally judgmental, closed-minded, and biased; so how do we love others like Jesus does?

ent ideas of what it means to be a follower of Christ, and that is reflected in the way we carry ourselves. How do we deal with people who believe in something different, even though we're both Christians?

The way we act and speak can make a huge impact on people's understanding of Jesus, and their impression of his followers. A verse to encourage you: 1 Peter 2:11-12 says: "Dear friends, I urge you, as aliens and strangers in the world, to abstain from sinful desires, which war against your soul. Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us." You don't have to "fit in" in convert others. In fact, standing out in the right ways draws the attention of others, and they are more eager to learn more. Being a living example shines brighter than trying to shove the gospel down people's throats. We are different, so let's live out our faith in action, so that our actions match our words about Jesus. We must be a salt and light in every + First of all, what does it mean to possible way, even if it means gobe a Christian? We all have differ- ing out of your way to demonstrate

God's love; to show that God's love is bigger than us. It is important to know HOW to be a salt and a light. You shouldn't be afraid to go out of your way to do the right thing

Other Christians' behaviour oten isn't what we expect, and it's easy to judge them for it, which is wrong. How do we combat this? I find that making the effort to look past their outer shell, getting to know their story and digging deeper makes understanding them easier. Love like Jesus did -- He loves the sinners, but not their sin. Do not condemn, preach at, or judge others; but instead, pray for them and love them as neighbors. There honestly isn't a way to change other people, contrary to common belief. Change yourself, and others will be influenced by you. + Does being a Christian mean that it is MY responsibility to convert all my non-Christian friends?

What if I do/don't feel the calling to evangelize? As a Christian, it can get pretty controversial when it comes to evangelising. Some of us are so persistent that it annoys people and makes their fellow Christians cringe. Some of us don't feel like it's the right time or place to share the gospel. Maybe the people aren't willing to listen, or may ridicule us. Otentimes we're faced with religion shaming, rejection, being challenged by Evolution/Big Bang "facts", and people who just don't care. Is it our burden to carry?

God's mercy. To conclude this TBH, I'd like to point out that while we're all different and God has placed us exactly where we are to be, we need to be focused on giving His love to everyone we encounter. We can't change the world that we live in, but by spreading the gospel as we're called to, Jesus is the one who will make things better. All we can do is purpose in ourselves to live like God would want us to and leave the rest up to Him! Ater all, He placed us in this world for a reason.

Personally, my life mission is to live in such a way that people will be compelled to ask me voluntarily what I'm doing different in life. This sort of opportunity to share the gospel is the most effective because the other person is willing to hear what we have to say! As for those who are obstinate and insist on debating you with science, use the Bible as your plumb line. What evidence is more tangible than the book of God's word scribed by thousands of his children? I do advise you, however, not to pick a fight with Evolutionists and those similar because it is really quite difficult to come away with any sort of good... Answers to the World's Most Pressing Questions: Exploring the Science behind Everday Occurrences & Events

But of course, this article wouldn't be complete without touching on the other kind of Christian: those who take the Bible out of context for their needs. You can't really interpret the Bible for your own agenda without some serious twisting, and those who are actively seeking to love those who do not have the love of God wouldn't be doing that in the first place. So really, a lot of us are lost and need

As a refresher for any readers who missed the first article on borborygmus (or somehow forgot how amazing it was), here's a quick recap to kick part two off: borborygmi (plural of borborygmus) is caused during a process titled 'peristalsis chyme' is pushed downward through the digestive system, along with pockets of gas and air which, when squeezed, cause the sound familiar to most of

us as the "stomach growl/rumble/ gurgle/etc". So, why is this sound commonly associated with hunger? The answer's actually pretty straightforward - while stomach rumbling can occur at any time (and is actually caused by the small intestine at times as well as the stomach), it's generally most noticable when your stomach is empty rather than full, since having food in your stomach or small intestine muffles the sound. To quote an article from the website howstuffworks, written by Jessika Toothman: "It's like putting a pair of sneakers in the dryer by themselves versus with a load of towels. The towels muffle the noise of the shoes as they bounce around." As far as why digestion is taking place anyhow if your stomach is empty, the answer lies with the brain, an undeniably useful organ. Roughly two hours ater your stomach has emptied itself, it produces hormones which send a message to your brain alerting it to the fact that it is empty. The brain will then send a signal for peristalsis to start again; this serves a dual purpose, both "cleaning up" any bits of food which may have remained and digesting them (yum, right?), and causing vibrations which will make you feel hungry. At times, then, your stomach isn't necessarily growling because you're hungry - it's actually trying to let you know that you're hungry. Now that you know this valuable information (which most of you probably already figured out based on common sense), go forth with it and act accordingly.
