JMU’s 11-1 win over Towson in the 2009 CAA Championship game was the second largest margin of victory in the history of the CAA softball Championships.

JMU won its first CAA softball title in 2009 with a 35-16 record and advanced to its first-ever NCAA regional.

Catcher Julia Dominguez hit a game-tying tworun home run in the sixth inning against Tennessee in the Dukes’ first-ever NCAA regional game.

JMU played in the Knoxville Regional in its first appearance in the NCAA Softball Tournament.

Pitcher Meredith Felts was named the CAA Championship Most Valuable Player in 2009 after going 2-0 with a 0.58 ERA.
